Now Jade 2014 BRIDE

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies! I am getting married at the Now Jade May 3, 2014!! We were lucky enough to see it in person and its gorgeous! The food and staff were amazing. After meeting with Pilar and her team I know I have nothing to worry about. It can at times, take a while to hear back from them. The hotel has multiple weddings a day, every day. I can only imagine how many inquiries they get! I am using Stacy with A Girls Gotta Go Travel Agency. She is just handling the travel for my guests, however I let her know that I was having difficulty getting through to them to confirm a wedding date and she called them, confirmed my date and I made a deposit that day! There are many other brides who have the same complaints as we all did,  but it does seem to be a common complaint with destination weddings. There are some really good Now Jade threads on here that helped me get the info I needed to make a decision. Whenever I email Pilar, she does get back to me. Even though sometimes it can take a few weeks. We couldn't be more excited. Best wishes to you all!!

Oh wow.. I definitely never saw any of these photos.  In fact, I never get got a wedding brochure! Had you been to the resort to do a site visit prior to picking Now Jade? I like the relaxed modern feel of the orange room.  I'm not really sure what the Mixed Beach Bar looks like either- just the few photos from the online forum people have picked.
Now Jade is an amazing resort! We got engaged there October 11,2011 and will be married here October 4, 2014!!! We chose the pergola, mix beach bar, and bamboo room! Since we've been there: and it was very memorable I knew it was our DW resort! The orange lounge is pretty low-key and we rarely saw anyone utilizing the space so possibly more private than mix beach bar. We peeked into the bamboo room (not knowing what it was at the time) and saw its beauty as they set up a wedding reception! Very little decor needed! What I have heard is the benefit of doing cocktail hour at the mix bar is just that your drinks come faster and your guests can watch & participate in photos on the beach more conveniently!!!! ; ) it's all a matter of preference I think

Has anyone used www.bookit.com for their weddings? The prices seem unreal because it is so different. For example a 4 night in early June us about $1100 on apple vacations or the jade website and only $800 on bookit.com. Seems crazy. Also I know if you use www.destinationweddings.com they price match. Would they match this?

I have been comparing prices from bookit, expedia and the group rates from my travel agent.  When doing an airfare+room it always comes up cheaper on both bookit and expedia.  However, my travel agent said she can price match on online fares but then we won't be able to book as a group.

What has everyone else done?

What is the best group rates that you all have received through the travel agent.  We were told that for a tropical room- non-preferred- we could get $162 per perpson per night.

Also- for people that have already been there, did you get upgraded on your room?  We can't decided if to just book a less expensive room for ourselves and hope we get upgraded, or just go ahead and pay for more expensive room now...?

We booked the regular tropical view room and were upgraded to preferred ocean view as a part of our wedding package. I would just book the Jr. tropical suite and I'm 99.9% sure you'll get upgraded as we did and every other review I've read.

We had a lot of folks upgrade their rooms once we arrived, ranging anywhere from $60-$70 per night. I'm just not sure if it's worth the extra money. The room is no nicer than the regular rooms, they look pretty much identical and the same size. We had about half the guest on the regular side and half on the preferred side. The "upgraded mini bar" was a joke and the wi-fi was very spotty in the room, just not that great at all. The only thing that we enjoyed was having access to the Preferred Lounge and having the option of going to Mercure for breakfast. I'm just not sure if having those 2 perks is worth the extra $60+ per night.

If you do a site visit to Now Jade (or Now Sapphire), do you know if they credit the money spent on your room towards the final wedding bill?  Paradisus, which is another resort I'm considering, does this, but I can't find anything in the Now Jade information.

I've seen this with Paradisus, but have never seen any information about a credit like this with Now Jade.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
