Hi Staci! welcome to BDW. Congrats on your engagement.

There are TONS of resorts and options to choose from. Start with deciding what YOU (and your groom...) want for your wedding/event. Big resort? medium resort? small resort? location (Cancun hotel district, RM, Tulum, etc)? what price range do you want to be in? high rise hotel, or resort feel?

If you don't have one, I'd highly recommend a travel agent, such as Wright Travel Agency - these ladies KNOW the resorts and have tons of experience with weddings and groups. They can help you narrow down your options, get pricing, and help your guests book.

Happy Planning!

Welcome to the forum Staci, and Congrats on your Destination wedding,

As a wedding planner here in the Riviera Maya, would advise you on the following when it comes to resort:

By asking yourself what your expectations are for your ideal resort such,

are you looking for an all inclusive?

must is it be a family friendly or adults only?

is beach more important to you?

When it comes to your wedding location are looking for more private location or a resort?.

Feel free to ask as anything and we will be happy to help

Happy Planning

Joyce

Welcome to the forum Staci + Congrats!!! on your upcoming dw :) you're already off to a great start by joining our community, as you can see from the advice you've already rec'd.

Another factor you may consider (if photography is important to you) is whether the resort you're thinking about allows outside vendors, and if so, what they charge.

Wishing you happy planning and that it all works out to be the Most Amazing Wedding Ever!!! Cheers :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
