Hi! We were planning a big wedding in our hometown but family & finances just got to be too much to deal with so we cancelled it all & are very excited to be jetting off to Mexico for our joint elopement/honeymoon. We are planning on staying on Isla Mujeres at Privilege Aluxes and were considering having the ceremony there, however their packages seem to be pretty pricey, in my opinion. It would just be the bride & groom along with 4 witnesses and we want the full legal ceremony (doing our own bouquet/boutonniereâ€s & dinner at our resort).  Here's what we want, Iâ€d very much appreciate it if you could give me a price quote and recommend a location(s).

-decorated palapa/gazebo on the beach

-little or no outside vendor fees (we have found a photographer we love already)

-officiant/judge with English translation

-legal service with all the required paperwork/bloodwork/legalization in country of origin (USA)

-seating for 4 witnesses

-Champagne & glasses for toasts

We are trying to keep to our $1,000 US budget, however our resort seems to be unable to make that happen.

Our resort was able to do a toned-down package for us. Their smallest package was $1750 but it was for 10 people. We were able to negotiate it down to $1400. Just take a look at their lowest package, and send them an e-mail only with the items you need/want and see what type of discount they can give you. It may have helped that I told our coordinator that if we didn't get it below $1500 we would have to start looking elsewhere....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
