Any Playacar Palace Brides 2014?

Recommended Posts

Hi Playacar Palace Brides!

I just got back from my wedding at Beach Palace! Most of the wedding information is the same across all palace resorts (spa services & prices, private function menus etc), so please let me know if you have any questions!

Sneak peek to my photo gallery! Enjoy!

Hey Lindsey!  Congrats on the wedding.  I have to ask, where did you get your groomsmen attire?  I am looking for that exactly but am having trouble.  We're getting married Aug @ Playacar Palace.

Cheers,

Amber

does anyone know how much Playacar Palace is charging for day-pass this year?  Also, does this get billed to the bride/groom or does the guests pay when they come in?

Thanks!

Hi @@FutureMrsNelson

Congrats!

We got our groomsmen attire from Tommy Bahama

The groom and groomsmen are wearing the Sonoma Pants in warm sand

Groom has on the matching sonoma blazer in warm sand

Groomsmen and groom wore the Monte Carlo shirt in chalk pink ( I got the chalk pink a few months ago though, think they got new colors in for the spring)

Good luck! :)

Hi ylan9383,

The 2014 day pass rate is $97 per adult and children 4-17 are $49. The # of guest passes available to you is limited to 20% of your group head count, 20 ppl would allow you 4 guest passes. It is up to you if you pay for the passes or the guests pay for the passes. If you have guests staying at other palace resorts, they don't need passes but you still pay the perhead for the reception.

I hope that answers your question!

Hi Rachel!

Thank you!

We used an outside vendor for both flowers and rentals. I brought a lot of decor from home but our florist and rental company bought all of it! So it is available to you through them :)

Florist- Vanessa Jaimes- she was incredible!

Rental Company- Planner1- worked with Arianna- amazing!!

I can not say enough great things about both ladies & companies. There were both so great and perfectly executed our vision!

Arianna and Vanessa had worked together on several weddings before, and worked together beautifully!

Please let me know if you would like either of their contact info!

:D

Hi Lindsey,

Thank you for sharing your vendors! I'm in the final booking process with PP and I was curious how they handled you using vendors offsite. I'm ising Ivan Luckie for my photography and Styling Trio for my hair and make-up. Were you charged the $800 off site vendor fee? I'm hoping I can get by with guest passes for them but it seems that PP has really wised up to all the charges they can throw at you. Any advice or info you can share on this is very helpful!

Hi dwbride2014,

If you use their preferred vendors, then there is no vendor fee. I dont believe Ivan Luckie is one, I am pretty sure for photography the vendors are Ocean and Sarani. I have a Sarani brochure if you want to see it. Styling Trio is one of their preferred vendors, I have already confirmed this and plan to use them as well.

Thanks for clarifying!! Do you happen to have anything in writing from palace resorts about Styling Trio that you can share that says that? I want to make sure there are no questions once I get there. I know Ivan wasn't a long time ago but was hoping to get by w a guest pass for him :)

Thanks Lindsey!!

Hi @@dwbride2014

I hope your final process is going well! We paid the outside vendor fee of $800 for each outside vendor. To my knowledge that is their 2014 fee and they are pretty strict about it….

I know brides in the past were able to just buy the day pass, but that was for all weddings prior to 2014...

Good luck!

Lindsey

What if there is already a photographer in your group?  Will they still try to weasel the $800 out of you?  It also looks like their DJs through JSAV are pretty expensive.  I would love to just have a mix on an ipod and play it myself, what is everyone else's experience with their wedding music.

Try PSAV which is the cheaper music company Palace uses without the vendor fee.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
