Hola Playacar Palace brides! Congrats on your upcoming weddings!    :) This post is for any brides interested in affordable decor for your big day.

I'm a newlywed from Vancouver, Canada that lives down here in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I have quite a few decor items leftover from our wedding in May, mostly in a rustic vintage style. I've decided to rent things out to brides that don't want to lug things like vases & mason jars down here to Mexico, and have priced things quite fairly compared to the resorts' prices.

I have a lots of different types of bottles, mason jars, vases and lanterns, as well as a variety of other items like wooden signs & frames, table runners, rustic birdcages, string lighting, paper lanterns and even a portable sound system.

If you want a Style Me Pretty or Ruffled type of wedding in Mexico without a huge price tag, I'm your gal! So far no one has had to pay an outside vendor fee at all, as they tell their WC that they have brought the decor themselves. I'm also always interested in buying items that brides bring down and would like to sell after their weddings, please send me photos of anything you'd like to sell!

If you'd like to see some photos and a price list, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you all the info. Also if anyone has any questions about the area, ask away! I've lived in Playa Del Carmen for two years and know the whole coast quite well. Happy planning ladies!

Here's a couple of photos of some items we used in our wedding and that are for rent, but I have lots more available. You can click on the photos to view the larger versions:

Hi there, I am getting married at Playacar Palace November, 6, 2014!!! Yippee.. I would love to see what items you have available, with quotes. The style is similar to what I was planning for my wedding, however would save me from having to lug everything from Calgary Canada :)

Thank you

Hi playabride1!

I am also getting married at PP in May- May 2nd.. when are you????

hey!

I'm May 20th and so far have done no other planning besides picked the locations.... I'm starting to feel out! Haha

We had a site visit with Karla in jan and decided the menu, and found out to our surprise that the location we wanted (the north beach) had already been given away for a rehearsal dinner... jOYOUS!

How's your planning going? I hope better than ours :)

Hi Playacar Palace Brides!

I just got back from my wedding at Beach Palace! Most of the wedding information is the same across all palace resorts (spa services & prices, private function menus etc), so please let me know if you have any questions!

Sneak peek to my photo gallery! Enjoy!

Hi ladies!!

I am getting married on June 28 at 6:00pm, coming up quick now! I'm starting to pick all my services and locations with my wedding coordinator and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the in house photography Ocean Studios? I am so confused by their brochure and my wedding coordinator and the contact for the photography studio both have not answered my questions completely! Their brochure says that photos are included during ceremony and 3 hours after at cocktail/reception, does anyone know if this includes time inn between ceremony and cocktail for pictures on the beach with bride & groom, wedding party pictures, etc? I really don't need three hours of my reception photographed but I want to make sure I get pictures of us and my bridal party! Just wondering if anyone has any insight or feedback. Pictures are one of the most important thing to me and I am very nervous about this company, really wish there wasn't a $800 charge for outside photographer :(. HELP!

Hi Shelly!

I am getting married 6.14.2014 at Playacar! :D I decided not to use their photographer, the prices were just too high for what they're willing to provide. I researched all of this way back in Sept, so i cant really remember all the specifics other than you dont get much time, few prints, they dont edit the photos (if they do on a couple) etc. I ultimately decided it would cost  just as much to use as Ocean as me bringing my preferred photog with me to the wedding and paying for their stay (as a guest so no vendor fee).

Congrats!

Rachel

Really i just remember the value wasnt there for what they wanted to charge.

Hi Lindsey!

Love the photos. I was just curious if you used the decor from the rental company or brought any of your own? Did you use a local florist or the resorts?

Thanks!

Hi Rachel!

Thank you!

We used an outside vendor for both flowers and rentals. I brought a lot of decor from home but our florist and rental company bought all of it! So it is available to you through them :)

Florist- Vanessa Jaimes- she was incredible!

Rental Company- Planner1- worked with Arianna- amazing!!

I can not say enough great things about both ladies & companies. There were both so great and perfectly executed our vision!

Arianna and Vanessa had worked together on several weddings before, and worked together beautifully!

Please let me know if you would like either of their contact info!

:D

Hi Lindsey!

I am planning on bringing some things from home and curious..did you just pack everything in suitcases? I've seen that some people have packed plastic totes that the airlines were willing to transfer.

If you could send me the contact info for both ladies, that would be great! My email is rachelholmes21@@gmail.com

Thanks!

Hi Ladies,

I've posted on here before but am at a stopping point when it comes to photographer and dj.  the only photographer attending my wedding is my maid of honor so I can't have her do it.  I'm thinking I will need to go local.  Any suggestions?  Also wondering what buffet choices anyone that has been there before had and what they liked and didn't like about them.  I am considering having my reception on the "deck" on the beach.  Anyone have any words of wisdom regarding that?  Thanks so much!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
