Hi Everyone

I'm Kristy and this is my first ever post.

We are getting married on 17th Sept 2013 in Oahu and I'm looking for some help on location for our ceremony & wedding planners to help me organise our wedding.

Our wedding is only going to be very small with immediate family only

We live in Melbourne Australia and I'm not keen on the idea of parting with thousands of dollars and then end up with a horror wedding!

Hi Kristy, I am also from Australia (Ballarat, Vic) and we got married at Paradise Cove in November last year & had our reception at The Coconut Club which is located on the 21st floor of the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, amazing views of Waikiki & the beach. We only had 19 guests which included myself & my husband & it was perfect, wouldn't change anything. We had Diana from Oahu Wedding (www.oahuwedding.com) our wedding planner & she was fantastic, I highly recommend her. She had so many amazing ideas. Our day was amazing. Feel free to ask me any questions. Hope this helps & good luck with the planning. Mel

Congratulations on your big day! I decided to reply to your post because you may want to consider booking a photographer, and currently Reel Creative Instincts is running a special for weddings if booked by the end of this month. Here are the prices and you can look at their portfolio. http://www.reelcreativeinstincts.com/Wedding_Pictures.html Super friendly and fun people who really want to capture all the most special moments! Good luck with planning. I would also suggest Dianna with Hawaii Weddings and Events http://hawaiiweddingsandevents.com/. They are really great people also!

Hi Kristy!

The most popular venues I know of are:

1) Lanikuhonua

2) Loulu Palms

3) Paradise Cove

4) Turtle Bay

5) Kualoa Ranch

6) Bayer's Estate

There are plenty more if you want a hotel but I only know of these because I wanted a beachside reception. If you don't mind me asking, what is your budget? This would help out a lot in giving you information... I am also having a small ceremony and reception (35-40 people) and have decided on Paradise Cove Ocean Gardens. They have a private garden area that overlooks the ocean and if you go through their preferred caterers, they discount the venue fee which is very reasonable. As someone also mentioned you could have the ceremony at one of the places I mentioned and have dinner at a restaurant. The Coconut Club is a restaurant that has fantastic views. I was also considering this but my heart was set on having a beachside reception so I decided to increase my budget for this. All depends on what you prefer. I also would recommend Diana from Oahu Wedding. Although I did not end up hiring her (decided not to have a coordinator), she was extremely helpful and super nice. She also always answered my emails promptly. Good luck with planning and feel free to ask me any questions!

Hi Kristy! Congratulations on your recent engagement!! The grounds at the JW Marriott Ihilani Ko Olina are beautiful as well. You can have an amazing ceremony (and reception) at the garden, over looking the ocean. I was there for a wedding in September 2012 and it was one of the most beautiful scenerys I have ever seen!

My friend used Waikiki Video Pro for her photographer and videographery, and it all turned out really nice. http://waikikivideopro.com/Home.aspx

Good luck and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
