Ipod and play list is the route we're taking and our WC is providing the sound system free of charge. Since DW are not traditional we are not having a traditional reception i.e. no annoucements, father/daughter, mother/son dance, gater/bouquet toss ect. The only dance we're having is our First Dance. Everyone's vision is different so definitely to each is own! @ Mufin 1785---what DJ app did you plan on using? I love the idea of the mixing and fading...

Ours will probably be 24 people including us 2 which I think is too small to justify paying for a DJ. I also just want only the First Dance. Hopefully, wherever we decide on, let's us rent the sound system too.

I think we are doing the DJ which will be expensive.... I definitely agree that it is hard to justify for the small wedding, but I'm planning on only having one, so I will bite the bullet and splurge! It is something we debated, but overall I don't want to worry about the music, just want us and the guests to party carefree

I was hoping for more guests, but it looks like my final guest count will be about 18 people (including my fiance and I). I have gone back and forth on the DJ issue so much my head hurts. I hate spending the $580 for a DJ, but it's like $300 to rent the sound system! If we have the DJ, I hope my guests get up and dance like there's 100 people there instead of just a handful cheesy.gif

Wow! That's not a bad price for a DJ!

We are only having about 18 people as well and we've decided to splurge for the DJ too :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
