Dealing with difficult relatives

Hi ladies! It sucks that people we want to have at our weddings won't be there. But, we (the couples getting married) have to remember, it's our day! We are marrying each other and a long as we are there together, anybody else is a bonus! I think this is part of having a destination wedding; it's very difficult to please everyone. We knew going into this that not everyone we wanted would be able to go and we both agreed that would be okay. I don't think I'll have a single person from my side there for different reasons. We are going to have a "celebration" when we get back so that those people can share with us. Make it about you two and don't let others ruin that! Best of luck!

hug2.gif Agreed! Sorry she made you cry! Have you let her know her comment hurt you? If you really didn't meant to upset you, then maybe she will apologize?

Hey Brides!

I'm getting married July 30th at GP Lady Hamilton and sad to say my Finace's family have been trouble since day one.

One piece of advise is that do NOT under any circumstance lower your standards/change your plans for a bunch of whiners.  Close family and friends should support your dreams especially regarding the biggest day of your lives.

We have carried on with our plans, and when the whiner and complainers see you are not paying them any attention they will book and show up at your wedding.  I'm only a month away and still have people booking. (The same complainers and the lovely Fiance's mother who started a WWIII lol)

What I have learned from this whole experience is some relatives/friends are very difficult people to begin with and are looking for reasons to complain and ruin people's moods.

KEEP SMILING...  Don't let anyone dim your light or squash your wedding dreams.

haha that sounds like a plan. we do what we can but it is soooo difficult to please everyone. But we shouldn't have to be pleasing anyone but ourselves and the groom. Go figure.. -__-

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
