Congratulations on your wedding!  My concern was it being a little humid also. But, jumping in the pool makes a very fun and memorable wedding! Would you have chosen a different reception location, or still done the pool?  Did you go in to Castaways while you were there?  Was it much cooler than the pool even though it is open? Thanks soooo much!  Congrats again!

@alwaters625 There wasn't a big difference to between preferred and the regular rooms. You can enter the preferred restaurants and bar as long as someone in your party has preferred club status. They also offer free wifi but that's only on one device and the wifi didn't work all that well in the rooms. Its limited to 15 hours a day and that might seem to be a lot, but if you forget to logout the time keeps running. We chose the silver menu we had the beef and salmon topped with shrimp. We basically did half beef and half salmon for our guests. The beef wasnt bad but it was extremely small. The fish and shrimp was good but it definitely wasn't salmon. The appetizers we chose were not good, i believe it was the dominican appetizers. The dessert we chose was tres leche and it was delicious and so was the wedding cake.

@@Cwright Thanks!! Even though it was so humid, I still don't think I would have changed the location. It was so beautiful and nice!! The ambiance of the pool and lighting was all the decor that you needed it. I did go to Castways but it was mostly during breakfast. I dont really remember if it was cooler. But it would make sense that it would be since its closer to the ocean and its covered. I guess it really depends on the time of day, as well.

Do you have any pictures that you can post? Or a website with pics?

What did you do to decorate your gazebo?

When you got married at 4, how long did the ceremony take? And did you all do pictures during the cocktail hour? Did you have enough sunlight?

Also, did you do a welcome dinner?

Sorry for the questions,

For your cocktail hour did you decorate the high boys?

Thanks.

Hi everyone! I'm creeping on your thread, a friend of mine is looking at getting married at the Now Larimar next November so I'm doing some research for her, I'm so glad I found all this amazing information! To the brides who recently got married, congratulations!! I had the wedding of my dreams in January in Cuba and found this website to be a lifesaver, so I'm hoping it will do the same for my friend. I'm a wedding planner on the side so I'm so excited to be back on this site and gathering info for her. I look forward to reading more reviews and seeing more gorgeous photos! Cheers to all the gorgeous brides and brides to be! :)

I know this has probably been answered but I was wondering if we were going with the your moments package but wanted a private reception (have not decided if we want a menu or buffet) what is the extra cost? We have roughly 60 people invited.

The prices for the different menu and buffet options are listed on the PDF Wedding Guide found on the Now Larimar Weddings page. Here is the link for it: http://www.amresorts.com/wedding_guides/nolpc-wedding-guide.pdf

Hope this helps!

I will try to post my pics soon. And also we used the white fabric to decorate the gazebo. I wanted everything for the ceremony to be white.

The ceremony lasted about 20-25 minutes, but we also used Pastor Mark and he did an amazing job. We did pics right after ceremony. We took group pics and family pics. Since we had such a large group we tok a lot of photos. We technically didn't have an official cocktail hour. We chose the moments package and added the reception on seperately. But there was a bar setup right near our wedding that our guests jut used as we were taking pics. We did not have a welcome dinner! We just met in the lobby bar and made reservations for dinner together. But if you have a big party they make you choose a set menu. I hope this helps!!

I initially had the highest package booked. But we switched to the moments package and added a sit down dinner reception at the relaxing pool. They charged me 10 a person over 50 ppl I believe.

Hi Ladies,

I am so glad I found this Topic. I am getting Married at Now on May 19th, 2015.  So excited! I do have a question for those who have already gotten married. My TA suggested that I might want to look into fake flowers as an alternative to real because of the heat and humidity might wilt the flowers really quickly so they might not look good in photos. What was your expeirence? did the real flowers last?

Thanks!!

I am glad you had a great time, did you feel like they were involved in your wedding? I only ask because I am a member of the jellyfish, huracan, etc. group on Facebook and they are very anti-resort wedding it seems. I'm personally excited to not have to travel the day of, but I don't want my wedding to feel rushed/unimportant!

    • When it comes to your Wedding Clothes, it's pretty normal to be flooded by numerous choices that are available in the market like clothing style, pattern, fabric, and colors.  Absolutely, I liked this dress and I will never miss wearing this outfit for the wedding. Thank you for sharing this post.
    • Hi guys! Thank you for sharing the valuable information. Some students think, “How do I write my book review?” and are confused by this sort of task, and others are happy to do it and enjoy the writing process a lot. Such a difference in perception and attitudes is caused by the ambivalence of this task.
    • Hi All, I have just gotten in touch with a TA and we are in the process of getting quotes for our wedding in either DR or Mexico. Now she said something that I wasn't  aware of and I wonder how others handled this as I just can't believe that we are the only one in this situation. We feel we are asking our guests already a for a lot to come a long way to our wedding (our guests come from Canada and Germany) and there are a few that wouldn't want to miss it (like my partner's brother) but they just don't have a lot of money. Our budget doesn't allow us to chip in for flights and accommodation so we are basically asking everyone to save up money for our big event. Now we are planning the wedding at a resort that I know some of our guests can't (or don't want to) pay for. We were hoping to find a place where guests have the option to book themselves a cheaper hotel or an AirBnB nearby and only come to our wedding. Our TA told us that the resort might not allow that or only for a limited percentage of our guests. That is terrible news for us! I think that a good 50% of our guests will also stay at the resort for one, two or even three weeks but how can we 'force' other people to stay at the hotel of OUR choice?  I get that the resort would charge a fee for day guests and obviously we expect to pay for food and drinks but I didn't know that we would have to agree to a certain percentage of the guests staying at the resort. I don't feel we have control over that. How do others handle that?
