HI Duchovny9091!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Thanks so much for the reply!  I have been seeing more and more pics of the fountain and loving it!   I still can't decided between the ballroom and castaways!  I am worried about castaways with the heat- at least the ballroom is air conditioned!  Are you using the resort photographers?

@Cwright Thanks and no problem! I had the same dilemma; since our wedding is going to be during one of the hottest times of the year I figured I'd just play it safe. Plus the hubby pretty much sweats just by breathing (lol) so that wouldn't look too great in pics! We did decide to use the resort photographers (WBA) to save the $500 vendor fee. Our wedding package comes with ceremony pics and video, so we are going to pay for a photo shoot after the ceremony. We are debating on the "getting ready" pics though, because WBA charges $150 for 10 photos of the groom getting ready so we are really trying to see if its worth it. We will have audience participation for the reception and have them post pics to a wedding app. I've heard other brides do this and since we have over 80 people coming, someone's bound to take good photos!

@duchovny9091 I think I may just use their photography too!  $150 does seem like a lot to photograph the groom getting ready- not like they have too much to do haha!  I was possibly going to look at some outside prices but everything adds up so quickly!  I would like to save the $500 vendor fee as well! That is amazing you have so many guests going!

Has anyone had their reception at Castaways in May?  Was it too hot?

Getting married at NOW Larimar 2/25/15 at the fountain with reception at the Relaxing Pool.  Any feedback from anyone who has already had their wedding or done a site visit on the fountain, pool, or had a reception at the Eclipse Night Club?

My fiance and I are debating because I really like the idea of doing the reception at the night club for a couple reasons...comfortable seating at sofas and chairs out in the open air so people can mingle and relax.  Unless I'm wrong, the pool has pool chairs and the tables/chairs set up for the reception itself only.  There will likely be people travelling through the pool area, thus giving less privacy. The night club is still covered in the event of inclement weather.  Does the night club have a nice view?  Any input would be very much appreciated.  Hopefully I'm posting this properly!!  Don't just see an option for a new post, only a reply.

Thanks!

Just a little info to brides that are flying into Punta Cana after November 14, 2014: If you haven't purchased your airline tix yet, Southwest starts flying international! I found this out a few weeks ago and WISH they did this earlier in the year. I'm a fan of their reasonable airfare and their 2 free checked bags per person policy. This would've saved us some money considering we have at least 2 large bags between us and have to pay for each one, and we're giving stuff to our guests to carry too! If all of your guests fly Southwest, you could basically carry all of your wedding items for free! Hopefully someone's able to use this for their wedding travel!

Hello Everyone!!

I too am very excited to have found this site as I begin preparations for my wedding in Feb 2015!!  I haven't touched bases with my coordinator and really didn't know that I should be the first to contact her until reading this website. So, I am thankful I googled for reviews and found this site!!!

Hey everyone!  I'm getting married on 5/16/15 at the fountain and I have a few questions.  I love the wooden plank walkway but I don't want to pay $1500 for it.  I would rather save that to splurge on our honey moon.  I'm just worried that it will look weird walking down the side of the fountain.  Does anyone have any pictures of the bride or wedding party walking down the side of the fountain that I can see?  Any previous brides that walked down the side of the fountain that have any insight?  I would love to hear your thoughts.  Soooo glad I found this site...it's been so helpful!  Good luck with all your planning ladies!

Hi Ladies!

Congrats everyone on choosing the NOW. It's such a beautiful resort!

I see a lot of you mentioning the topic of using the resort photographers vs an off site photographer. First and foremost, you have to LOVE LOVE LOVE your photographer!! I can't stress this enough. Your wedding images & videography (if you're doing that) are truly the 1 honest heirloom you'll have from your day. No matter who it is, make sure you absolutely adore what they do! If you'd like to see a full wedding there from us, head here: {http://www.shoeboxph...ing-emily-matt/} along with their romance session on the Now beach: {http://www.shoeboxphotography.ca/punta-cana-sunrise-engagement-session-emily-matt/} Also... we understand that the NOW has a pretty steep fee for using outside vendors so we offer to split this fee with you. :) Enjoy! & Happy planning beauties!

& If you have any questions - photography related or not, give me a shout. I'm happy to help. :)

XO

Mel

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry if this has been asked but 39 pages of posts is too long to read! I want to book Anna Nuet for my wedding. Did anyone book her? If so was a day pass sufficient or did they charge you the $500 outside vendor fee. I don't mind paying the day pass but $500 is not in my budget! Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
