Now Larimar 2014 Brides

Recommended Posts

@@Tiffany Ellison Thanks so much for your review! I am also getting married at the fountains on August 30 and I was wondering where the cocktail hour would be held! I just had a few questions if you don't mind:

Did you pick your own dinner menu? (did you select items from both the silver and the platinum dinner menus?)

Did your coordinator print a menu for your group?

What did you do for music during cocktail hour (if any)?

What type of package did you book with the on-site photographers, and how long did they stay with you (start time and finish time)? I was wondering how much of the reception they capture in their packages. I may have to rely on friends and family for pics (like @@DestiBride !) during the later part of the evening but I'm not sure if I can! LOL

Thanks for your help, and Congrats to you and your new hubby!

Oh also to any past brides, what did you and your guests do after the reception? We are planning to go to the nightclub on the resort and was wondering how the vibe is in there!

Our group went to the nightclub on the resort every night!

We went after our reception and danced for probably 2 hours! I didn't want to change out of my dress so it was HOT for me! But still so much fun!

We extended the reception at Castaways till midnight and then around twelve of us hung out on the beach and swam in the ocean for another couple of hours. My husband and I ran into the ocean in our wedding clothes, others took their clothes off and went in in their underwear. It was soooo much fun. Just happened organically, though, wasn't planned.

We went to the nghtclub on other nights and it was fun too. The DJ is good and it's not too packed so if you're with a group you'll be able to stay together and find your own area to hang out in.

Food and service were great and I would recommend it as a vacation spot. We were there from May 14-22 and it wasn't too packed. There were enough people that it was a fun and energetic vibe but it never felt crowded and we never had to wait in line for anything. We paid for the upgrade to "preferred" rooms but I didn't think it was worth it in the end. They don't really keep tabs on who's preferred and who's not so you could get away with using the preferred amenities if you wanted to, without being a member.

Hi ladies!  I just got back from our 9 night stay at NOW Larimar and it was nothing short of perfect!!!!  I would be happy to share anything about our experience, but I will not be checking this site regularly (and I don't really know how to work it) so please email me ANY questions you might have! bethlorentz@@gmail.com

The basics of our wedding:

-Fountain wedding on June 6, 2014 at 5pm

-Hair and make up were done by members of the spa staff

-Reception by the relaxing pool from 7-10

-Silver buffet dinner

-35 guests

-Luisa was my wedding coordinator

-Outside photographer (Caribbean Emotions - Michael and Pascal)

-Welcome party on the beach

-No cocktail hour

-Resort DJ

-Brought almost all of my own decorations and artificial flowers

Look forward to helping how I can!  Congrats to all of  you!

Hi All!

My wedding is booked of May 21st, 2015! I am very excited, and am now starting to look if I should use outside vendors vs the resort services?   I have looked into having Krystie Ann do my make up as I think I really would like it airbrushed.  What are your views on the resort photography and decorations?  Did a lot of you use an oustide decorator?  It is so overwhelming trying to decide whether to use the resort or outside services!

Also, I think I am going to have my ceremony at the fountain as I would like it a little more private.  Did anyone use the eclispe terrace for the ceremony?  My wedding coordinator told me it may be more private.  Also did anyone use the ballroom for their reception?  I heard that would be more private as well!

Thanks so much- any advice is greatly appreciated!

@@Cwright congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I'm getting married this August and decided to do a fountain ceremony due to privacy as well. All the pics I've seen of ceremonies held there are awesome, especially because there's no one photo bombing the pics in their bikinis! Hahaha! I am booking the ballroom as well due to privacy but also because we can party up til midnight with a large group. I looked into the eclipse terrace at first but when my party became so huge, ot wasn't a possibility. Plus the time schedule didnt fit (club opens at 1030pm) and I didn't want my reception cut short. The only thing with the ballroom is that I heard its super plain, like a meeting room, so you might have to jazz it up with decor. we're bringing almost everything down to decorate!

Hope this helps and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
