Now Larimar 2014 Brides

We decided to go with a different photographer because WBA seemed like they did more "posing" type photography and we were looking for more creative, artistic.  Their prices were also much more expensive in regards to packages and included a lot of what we did not want (i.e. actual photos, cards, videos, etc.) However, WBA is part of our wedding package so we hired Karina Jensen (http://photobykarina.com) to photograph our entire wedding and WBA will do our ceremony or whatever our Divine Package includes.  We had tried to book Katya Nova because of the great reviews, but she is out of the country from Nov 2013- Feb 2014.  She gave us a list of great photographers she recommended such Desy & Vincent of RF Weddings, Cole & Jakob of Nordica Photography, Anna from Cineart.ca, Candice from Popik Photography, Karina Jensen (we are using her), Jess Shields Photography, Tamara Briggs Photography (password: dwedding) Yury Meleshko, Asia Pimentel, and Mel & Rob  Shoebox Photography.  Google them and check out their websites!  All look like incredible photographers just a matter of what your budget is and what you are looking for.  They all vary in their style.

Good Luck :)

p.s. be ware that Now Larmiar now charges a $500 fee to allow an outside photographer into the resort - it may be less expensive to book a room for the photographer since they will then be a guest at the resort...not something I have looked into just yet.

What have you ladies decided on photographers? My wedding is in January and I'm still undecided on what to do.

Now Larimar does have a resort photography team, but they can be hit & miss. If you really care about your wedding photos, hire someone whose work you LOVE, so that there are no disappointments. I would offer you our services, but we're out of the country till March 2014... Check out 'photographers' in the 'vendor' section here on BDW and compare portfolios!!

Hugs from sunny Punta Cana and best of luck on your amazing Big Day,

Katya.

@Kristina,

We know that many people make us negative publicity (especially competence), but you can see some examples of our work and you can decide what's best for you. Now Larimar organizes many weddings and most of the couples choose us as photographers  for their special day. They go home very pleased with with the beautiful memories that they can share with their loved ones.

Sincerely,

WBA team.

@Jldinapoli,

Just for your information- even if you will bring the photographer (local vendor) and you will book a room for him/her in the Resort, the outside vendor fee for the photographer must be payed.

Regards,

You ROCK for posting these, jldinapoli cheers.gif

That's the list of recommendations I send to all my brides whose weddings we're not around for... Choosing a photographer is such a personal affair... You really have to make sure you love their work and they are fabulous people - because you're going to spend your entire wedding day in their presence!

Regarding the $500 outside vendor fee - mandatory and totally fair. We offer to split it with all our couples. Boom!

Hugs from Punta Cana,

K+R

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
