Yayy another Hawaii bride! I feel like there are so few on this site that I almost hunt down all the Hawaii brides. Haha. I was thinking of Gannon's in Maui too! One of my bridesmaids said flights were expensive to Maui so we chose Oahu instead. Otherwise, I would have loved to get married in Maui! We are going to Maui for our honeymoon though after Oahu and will be staying at the Sheraton. We were also thinking of the Westin! And another funny thing is that our wedding dates are a week apart :) Mine is August 10, 2013. Have you done your invitations yet? I just finished mine and did a passport style invitation with a boarding pass RSVP.

Congrats to you & your Hawaiian wedding. As much as I LOVEEEE this site, it's so hard for us Hawaiian brides to get really detailed information because the Caribbean is SOO different! I told myself I was going to post as many detailed things as I could & many reviews for future Hawaiian brides.

We have too many similarities girlfriend!

I didn't think it really mattered where in Hawaii, flights are expensive! haha. I mean I know the smaller islands (& Kauai) are pricey just because they're smaller (Kauai being the farthest) some of our family & friends (coming from East Coast) got flights for a week + for under $600! which is cheap (we thought, knowing from our last trip)

our STDs are done invitations are a little delayed because the girl making them are on vacation, sucks, because it's another stressful thing. my STD (a post I did before) are passport style &then my invitations are boarding passes. My RSVP will be a luggage tag type.

I've got my dress & TTD dress, my 2 MOH, their dresses are ordered, he asked his 3 guys, still waiting on suit choices, my flower girls are picked, still deciding what their mother will make them (I want a tu-tu style dress for them!) my mother & his found their dresses. My photographer is being "shipped" out from my "hometown" along with a photographer there.

I need my shoes. I need DJ. I need Photobooth. I need to pick music selections & such.

I don't even know what else!

I'm stressing on my welcome bags & welcome "letter" which actually is going to be a magazine! yikes, talk about aiming high with 4 months!

Omg we do have so many similarities! I wanted my flower girls to wear a tutu style too. Here is a pic of the dress I love for them :) 400 My MOH and bridesmaids dresses are also ordered. Even though its beachside I still wanted it very elegant looking. They ended up picking a Vera Wang chiffon dress. Very pretty! 400 A magazine?! That sounds so cool but stressful. Lol. Good luck with that! Would love to see pics when it's done. Sounds very creative! Post a pic of your passport invitations STDs too! I ended up doing my own because we have a very small wedding and most of the people I contacted to make them had a minimum. So glad I did though. I love them! Will post pics soon. What are your colors? Let's share pics! I'm so happy I found a Hawaii bride even though its a different island :) especially since you're so responsive. Haha. Mostly everyone on here is headed for Mexico or the Carribean! As for photographer I ended up picking a well known one in Hawaii called Visionari. LOVE their work. visionariblog.com How about your flowers? You know what other place I was looking at in Maui but its sooo expensive but beautiful! It's called White Orchid Beachhouse. They have a website called White Orchid Weddings. You can get a lot of flower & decor ideas on there :)

i didn't see that flower girl tutu! it's beautiful! my girls' mother is an amazing sewer & artist so i'm trying to talk to her to make theirs something like these:

my passport STD

AppleMark AppleMark

my colors, well as you can see in STD they're pink & blue, but i then changed the dresses to coral, but then i didn't like that colors so now the bridesmaid dresses are a pomegranate. we didn't like any other color & we were in a rush for dresses!

their dresses are in pomegranate like i said, from alfred angelo. I felt bad making them pay all this money, so i let my 2 girls pick their dress, any dress, any color. they ended up with the same dress:

as for your comments about photographers & other locations. I just found my photographer from their pictures & locations & originally was going to do it on the West side of the island, but knowing how the weather is different & pictures weren't as beautiful, we decided to change. although our hotel is still West side, which is making this all the more complicated.. but we like a challenge ;)

this is my photographer company: http://www.mauiwedding.net/index.php

& this is our location: http://www.hawaii-photographers.com/MauiWeddingLocations/Gannons-Seawatch

but after all is said & done, I need a drink, or two! haha

Ahh I love the 1st flower girl dress! Soo cute. I like the color of the bridesmaid dresses too. That was a color I was considering for mine too :) So you've decided not to do the original photographer from your area? Here are my passport invites with boarding pass RSVPs: 400 400 400 Don't stress too much! Try and enjoy it as much as possible. Nothing wrong with a drink though. Haha. Have you thought about what flowers you want for your bouquet and centerpieces?

I have 2 diff photographers actually. silly me didn't mention. the one I did mention above is a #1 Hawaii photographer. they'll b doing prior pics of the groom ( because opposite sex can't b in locker rooms at Gannon's. if this is where we get ready) the ceremony and sunset pics. BUTTT... I also have a local NJ photographer who I've been obsessed with for 4-5 years now. I'm shipping her out for our welcome pool party, luau in place of rehearsal dinner, me getting ready. the reception. brunch following day. boudoir session for grooms surprise gift and my trash the dress. woah. lots of pictures to be captured!

Thank you!! I can't take all the credit because I got the background template from this lady I found on Weddingbee. That's why I asked you initially if you did your invitations because I was going to refer you to her but you said you already did the passports for your STDs. I did, however, do ALL the pictures, picked the ribbon, rhinestones and pretty much the overall look myself! They didn't have a template for Hawaii (only Mexico of course). I even had to learn Adobe Illustrator and that was no easy task. Haha.

Two photographers? Wow! You definitely won't have a shortage of photos. Haha. But that's great because photos are one of the most important things in my opinion. Initially I was going to go with a cheaper photographer but I thought, if I'm going to spend on something, it's going to be the photographer! Glad to hear you got your dream photographer :)

We'll be in Maui only from Aug 13-16 but maybe we'll see you there! Wow you're going to be there for 16 days!! So lucky!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
