Dreams Palm Beach Brides 2014

Hi DPB brides.

I'm also getting married May 2014 at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana.

Is anyone having the typical "guest attendance" issue that seems to be the norm with destination weddings?

For anyone booking their wedding- are you going through a travel company?

I was sent all the price lists for reception and ceremony info including food, decor, etc.

They do have a cigar roller- we're booking one for our cocktail hour.

I am also getting married here in April 2014 (hopefully if i get my deposit in soon) and I am super excited. There were a few options for reception and they mentioned the convention center...does anyone know what this is? I am contemplating on the pool area because it looks so gorgeous! OMG im freaking out just talking about it.

Putting together my wedding website so all of the guests can RSVP online. Its so crazy how far we have come with technology. But I havent heard who my wedding coordinator is. How long does that take from the date you send in the deposit and receive the confirmation email?

Hi Ladies! I am a May 2014 bride! I'm getting excited, the time is just flying by! I've made a deposit already and we have 22 of us going. I'm looking to book an outside photography and videography vendor ($150 outside vendor fee from resort) but paying over $2000 for 200 photos seems crazy to me. So far I've been looking at a few outside vendors. Anyone read or researched this as well?

Im looking to do the same. I cant believe how expensive videography is for someone decent. How did you get 22 ppl already??? Good head count. I am anticipating how many might attend my wedding. Fingers crossed

Hi Everyone! I am getting married here 2/15/14... We are inviting 200 people but expecting anywhere from 50-80. I think waiting on a head count is half the stress. I have decided since we have so many people coming that we would skip the traditional rehearsal dinner and do a bonfire on the beach instead. This way people can eat wherever (it will be Valentine's day) and we can meet up for a few cocktails on the beach.... Does anyone else have a bonfire scheduled? I was curios how they set it up?

Booked and set for May 3rd, 2014 at Dreams Palm Beach. Pretty excited! ;) Haven't done much planning as far as the wedding goes. Having the ceremony on the beach (late afternoon around 5:30pm), poolside reception to follow. Not too worried about the details. I'm just renting the PA system and using my iPhone for music, probably providing my own centerpieces if anything, and then just getting the basic decorations (gazebo for the ceremony and maybe some chair sashes if I really feel like it)

My dress is done, bridesmaids dresses are done.

From what I understand you pick most of the details (flowers, decor, etc) during the week of your actual wedding? Any insight on this? I'm just wondering if there's anything else I should be doing. Hopefully I'm just a little a head of the game, because I'm trying to avoid any real "planning" Thoughts?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
