December 2013 Brides

I searched high and low and didn't find a thread for December 2013 brides so I thought I'd create one.  This can be a great place for us to share ideas, plans, templates, stresses, etc.

I'm getting married at Marival Residences in Puerto Vallarta.  Right now we have our venue booked and finally secured group pricing with our travel agent.

Today we bought some goodies to start working on our 2nd STD.  Our 1st STD we sent a little less than 2 years in advance to get people to save (not sure that worked).  For our 2nd STD, we are sending a DVD w/ a little video introduction from us, followed by a video of our resort (thanks youtube) and then pricing information from our travel agent.

I'm also having my dress made and think I finally came up w/ a design that I like and sent off for fabric samples today. msnparty.gif

I'm really struggling though with photography.  Dang, it's expensive!!  I'm not sure if we should pay the money for a photographer in Mexico or try to negotiate w/ a local photographer for some sort of trade-off (pics for free vaca).  Any suggestions?

I hope this thread helps because I've found so much useful information on this site.

Happy Planning!!

Hi Traci

Thanks for starting this thread. I am getting married December 3 at Grand Palladium Whitesands in the Mayan Riviera Mexico. So far I have booked it and just purchased my wedding dress but don't have much else yet. Bridesmaid dresses are the next step!

Hi girls,

Im a December bride too! As posted on the Newbie thread, I dont qualify as a DW bride but there are some great ideas & tips here so Im staying!

We were considering getting married in either New York or Jamaica (will travel to both on our honeymoon), but then decided against it. So what we are doing is having a secret wedding here at home, and then heading straight for the airport and off on our honeymoon. Finding it really hard to keep quiet and not spill the beans. Have all these ideas that I need to vent and get advise on, more so for our AHR rather than the wedding.

That's the thing about this site. There is a lot of great information but it could make you more overwhelmed.  LOL

GOOD LUCK PLANNING!!!

I'm on vacation this coming week and I have lots on my list that I want and need to get done.  We moved into our house 8 months ago and still have boxes lingering in closets.  LOL! In regards to the wedding, the wedding invite template is almost done.  I want to find the stationary and get them printed, assembled and mailed out by mid July.  The other thing is I want to go out and dress shop. We are going to finalize the reservation with my travel agent and work on the website too.  Oh my...I don't think 7 days will be enough time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
