After long searching, from Mexico, to Dominican Rep. and Cuba, we are looking to have our destination wedding in Cuba August 2014, going towards Iberostar Laguna Azul as well. I cant wait for Kay's feedback. I am looking for the beach location with the nice setup white chairs overlooking the blue sea. Brother in law was married a few years back at the Melia Las Dunas under the Gazebo but the guests were all standing I didn't find it warm and inviting. From the pictures on google of the ILA I see that they do have the nice white chairs all setup. My problem is I keep reading Trip advisor's comments... Help!

I'm getting married at ILA in October 2013. It took me a while to decide on Cuba and on this resort but I feel like its the perfect fit for us. Not sure if your aware of the Facebook group, iberostar Laguna Azul brides. If not join the group and all your worries will be gone. It has put my mind at ease over and over again. Many past brides put reviews and photos and they are all wonderful. Hopefully this helps!

We're getting married on the beach at the Blau Marina Varadero in Cuba.  They set up the white chairs and I'm bringing the sashes.  I chose this resort over teh Iberostar as they only do ONE wedding per day.  I've heard and rad that the Iberostar Laguna will do 3 per day and I didn't want to feel rushed...yada yada.   Two of my family members have been to Blau Marina before and said it was a good resort, the staff was super friendly and the nightly entertainment is great!  The wedding co-ordinator has sent me photographs of the what the beach looks like decorated as well as the reception hall.  Also, a friend of mine who is a flight attendant, said that she too has been there and they are continously improving (under new ownership) and that she recommends it.  She also said that given we will be the only wedding that day, we will be treated like Royalty (which I really appreciate, given that we have 78 people attending).  I asked for a beach party with bon fire, dancers and music for our last night there and  the WC and management has agreed...Here are some pictures.

This is what the arch looks like ...they still use it but now have covers on the chairs.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
