RSVP Cards, did your guests send them back?

Hi, 

 

We will do RSVP Cards (mostly for local guests, overseas guests we use email or RSVP website). 

 

I have been to several weddings however none of them have RSVP cards, so just wonder how many will actually send them back? I hope that because I will attach pre fixed stamps, the guests will make the effort to send them back. 

 

Will they be annoyed if I remind them closer to the date to send the RSVP cards back?

We included pre-stamped and addressed RSVP cards and we still did not get most of them back. In hindsight I wish we hadn't spent the money on the postage since so few people used it, but if you feel strongly about it I'd say just be willing to eat that cost and not get much out of it. I don't think people will get annoyed by a reminder to send them back-- we did that via email and got a decent response. Most people had just forgotten and were really apologetic. No one seemed mad that we checked in. Good luck!

I had the same thought. I don't think I will send them, especially if no one will send them back anyways.

Of our 26 invites sent, we only receieved 3 RSVPs back via snail mail and 1 via our wedding website. The return envelopes were pre-stamped with the thought that it would be it easier for guests, but this obviously didn't matter. We also sent a broadcast email out to our guest 4 weeks prior to the RSVP deadline and didn't receive any more responses. I honestly didn't know who was coming, except for our parents and BM/MOH, until I contacted my TA to find out who had booked which was on the date when we had to release the remaing rooms on our block back to the resort.  She also informed me that most of my guest booked two weeks prior to this date even though they had 8 months to do so.  Welcome to the wonderful world of planning a Destination Wedding!

I had quite a few of my guests return the pre-stamped RSVP cards via snail mail and most of those were" no" , but I would say at least 50% did it that way.   The rest did it via our website RSVP and only a few did neither for which I had to email them to find out.  I would offer the option to RSVP both ways again.  It seemed for the most part, it was split and people really do respond well to having something tangible like an RSVP card. At least my guests did.

I think I will get do both Facebook RSVP and Postcard, but I will still request them to send back the cards as well after Facebook RSVP (lol) because I need to keep track of special diet from our guests.

Good to know...my booking is going the same way. It's a total guessing game.
