Iberostar Grand Rose Hall Weddings 2014

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen any tread for the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, for 2014 weddings, so I thought I would make one.
My wedding is at the Iberostar Grand in February 2014. My numbers of guests are still up in the air, I have about 130 invited. I would think we would have about 60 people attending, I am assuming some guest will be staying at the Suites and Beaches.

We are having the wedding on the beach at the Grand, in front of the Porta Maria, followed by a cocktail hour on the beach with a steel drum band and then a reception also on the beach, with the bonfire, DJ and the wooden dance floor. I think for supper we are doing buffet (I haven't looked to deep into the food choices yet, but the food at the Grand is good so I'm assuming I will be ok). I want my wedding to flow from one element to the next so there is no boring moment. I have been at the resort a few times and I do like it. I booked my wedding date, when I was there for New Years this year. I am really excited about it and I am having a ton of fun planning.

I'm wondering what everyone else is doing for their 2014 weddings at the Grand? What kind of time-lines are people giving themselves before they settle on things such as decor and food?

Hi, I am planning a May 2014 wedding at the Grand also. I have a confirmed date but my fiancé and I haven't confirmed it yet with ourselves (pending a visit to the grand in 2 weeks). I have chosen a beach wedding also but i am opting for a indoor/air conditioned reception. Although I love traveling/the beach and the ambience I hate being too hot!! I have so....many apprehensions about having the wedding there that I am hoping to get resolution too when I go for the site visit. Happy Planning!!

I am getting married at the Grand in May 2014 and would love any tips from any brides that have already had their wedding or have visited the resort. We are having around 70 attend and will be doing most of the reception on beach with dance floor. Loreto mentioned a jamaican bbq for rehearsal dinner. Has anyone done this? Trying to get response from WC has been tough, so any recommendations/suggestions would be amazing!

Hi! I am getting married at the Grand in April 2014. I haven't started planning much as we aren't sure how many people will be coming. I would love any feedback, tips or ideas as we haven't been to the resort. We booked it based on all the rave reviews. We are thinking of a beach ceremony and then indoor dinner. One question I have: are most of you having a legal ceremony in Jamaica? I was thinking about getting legally married in the U.S. before we leave for Jamaica but some things I've been reading the legal ceremony seems pretty easy. Thanks!!

Hi! I am getting married at the Grand in April. We aren't sure how many people will join us, but hoping for around 30. I would welcome any tips or advice from any brides! We haven't been to the resort but from all the reviews I'm sure it will be AMAZING!! I thinking about doing the bonfire after our welcome dinner. Any thoughts? Thanks!!

Hello All!

I too am almost 100% sure I am going to pick the Grand for our wedding as well! I haven't booked a date yet. I was thinking closer to October 2014, but am unsure if I should have it then. Does anyone know how busy of a time this is for them? I am aware it is hurricane season, but I don't want to get married on the beach in the middle of the summer....I don't think a sweaty bride would be very attractive!...I don't want to have to rush to plan everything to do it in the spring though.  I'd appreciate any feedback any of you have on things that made you pick your date! Also- Has anyone been in touch with the wedding coordinator there? I have read reviews about how long it takes them to get back to you. I don't want to freak when I contact them! How much extra are you paying for your reception? I would like to get the Gold Star package, but don't want to pay a whole bunch more for the reception. I'm overwhelmed already!!

MeganPhillips - How did you determine how you wanted to plan your reception? Are you having a bonfire on the beach or is this an option they give you? I have only gotten so far as to read through the package information a couple times. I want the gold star package, but will most likely have at least 30 people attend. I am at a loss for what to do after the ceremony. I kind of feel like maybe I should just do the cocktail hour then the reception that is included. But do I pay extra for a party? I don't want to spend a whole bunch of money afterwards when I'm planning on having everyone stay at the resort and will already have their all-inclusive packages. The resort will be getting double the money for drinks right? Ahh! confused!!

Hello, I am so glad I found this thread. This is the only thread only thread I have seen for Grand Rose brides. Our wedding isn't until 2015, but we have started to plan. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. I have had a horrible time getting responses back from the on-site coordinators. We were making travel arrangements through Destination weddings.com but they have been horrible as well. We are basically starting from scratch.

TrooDiva - Congrats!  I am also going to go with The Grand ( I am almost 100% positive...it's such a hard decision!!) How did you end up making your mind up on a resort? I have read alot of threads on this site where the girls say the wedding coordinators are pretty lousy at communication until a month or two before your wedding! That scares me! I'll be freaking out! The travel agent I have contacted is a Jamaica specialist through this sites owner- Wright Travel agency. I have only spoken on the phone to her once, and have exchanged a couple of emails. She has gotten back with me promptly and seems to be genuine and knows her stuff about Jamaica! There is no charge to use her...so I said I'll try it!! Hopefully she works out! I am currently trying to decide if I really want to have our wedding in October or not. It's hurricane season, but I don't want to be standing there in the middle of July sweating to death! Ahh! There is sooo much stuff to plan and decide on! Which package are you planning on going with? Or have you decided on one yet?

Jennkn87, We decided on the Grand because we wanted an adults only resort. We wanted our guests to not only celebrate our union but also have a kid free vacation. We went with the Gold package. Yes, October is hurricane season, but I have no worries.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
