I basically am VERY indecisive and don't know where to go from here. I guess you can say I am overwhelmed as well. Our travel agent has narrowed it down to Now Sapphire (cancun), Dreams Riviera Cancun and Dreams Puerto Vallarta. Please help me to choose!

i didn't visit any of those resorts, but one of my friends got married at dreams puerto vallarta and loved it. indecisiveness is difficult in wedding planning - being ALMOST done with it, i can tell you it's particularly hard when you spend forever making a decision and then someone tells you that decision is no longer available. trust me, it happens a lot more than you would expect! just figure out which decisions really matter to you and it'll save you a lot of stress! good luck!

Ahhh I can completely see where you are coming from, by reading all of these message boards. There's just so many options, and I think that almost makes it worse, because you get so overwhelmed as to what to pick or who to go through. I have also noticed how small things add up BIG time and people wind up spending soooo much more than expected. I guess, one of the most important things to me is that everyone has a great time, photography, and to try to stay in a budget. I see so many people bringing their own things and I am anxious to see if I can get a better price or deal haha Good luck to you! Your wedding is almost here eepppp that is so exciting. I want to see pictures! Where are you getting married at?

Sounds like you're feeling better with the planning process, meganator22 - so Well Done! you already have your top priorities, so that's a big win, and will make the rest of it fall into place much more easily.........enjoy your journey, and all the great times ahead......Cheers :)

Being undecisive makes everything so much more difficult! I was the same way! I was second guessing everything! I did so much research that I felt like I went into information overload! Thankfully, I hired a wedding planner (Luisa from Weddings Riviera Maya) and between her and my husband, I stayed sane! I think once you pick out a location and set a date, you're able to breath a little easier. Those two, along with the dress, were my biggest priorities! Thankfully, I had my dress before the location and date embarrest.gif Haha.

When I couldnt make a decision, I would narrow my choices down, from 10 to about 3 and then I would have my husband give the final say. We did this with our photographer and I think my husband make the best decision!! With flowers, I had an idea and would show my husband pictures and thankfully he was able to say yes or no with just one look!

In regards to your location, maybe look under the forums for those specific locations and see whats being said. Also, look at weather and activities; one location may stand out more than another! I know that when we were planning our vacation (the one where my husband proposed to me) our options were Puerto Vallarta, Cabo or Playa del Carmen. After reading about the locations and talking with friends, we decided to go to Playa because the water was warmer and the water was better for swimming/snorkeling in that area.

Good luck with the planning!

Welcome and congratulations!   I felt overwhelmed in the beginning,  too. One thing that really helped me decide was looking through photos from actual weddings at venues I was interested in. Resort websites and Trip Advisor are good for getting a feel of what your stay at a place will be like, but they're not always good for envisioning a wedding ceremony and reception there. When you see real wedding photos, you notice things you do and don't like about venues. I found it much more helpful than trying to guess how things might look.   del Sol Photography has slideshows from two of the venues you're considering on the list they have here:   http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/a/del-sol-photography-slideshows-riviera-maya   I remember checking out Dreams Cancun early on and loving this gorgeous ceremony location:

If you had in mind dinner on the beach, that's stunning there, too:

Now Sapphire, I never considered, but looking at it now, I don't think it's as breathtaking. I know they have more than one choice for ceremony area, but this one stands out to me as kind of cramped and less visually appealing, on account of the distracting text on that wall:

This is better, but as you can tell, not totally private:

Just my personal opinions, of course. I do think the weddings were all beautiful, and you may care about certain things that I don't or not care about things that I do. I would really recommend going through all the slideshows of the venues you're considering and comparing with a critical eye.    I've had a few second thoughts about venue and reception locations and am not convinced I made the most stunning choice in either area, but I do feel happy with my choices. That's definitely the most important part, feeling content with your venue and not wishing you had chosen somewhere else. I find once you select a location, it helps to keep looking at it and to stop looking at other places, much like they say to do with the dress. The more you look at it, the more you should love it!

Good luck choosing!

Great advice, cherany + excellent photo reference too - good job :) Another factor to help you relax and take some pressure off - is knowing that whichever venue you do choose, will be Gorgeous! because they all are in their own ways.

The most important "moments that matter" are those shared by you and your true love! - imortalized by the photo record of your Big Day...priceless :)

Wishing you all the best with your decisions and planning process, culminating in the perfect wedding you've always wanted! Enjoy :)

I am partial to Dreams PV, as that is where I am getting married. I was just there in September (where I got engaged), and it was absolutely stunning. The water was warm, the beach was beautiful and the staff was simply incredible.

The only downside to Dreams is that the water is more rough than on the Caribbean side. You don't get that turquoise blue water either. However, the weather is simply spectacular, and the sunsets are breathtaking.

We choose PV because of our anniversary (and wedding date). As we want to get married in September, we didn't want to put our guests at risk of a hurricane in the Caribbean. While it is still the rainy season on the west coast, it is not all day, every day rainy- mostly just rains at night or a few splatters throughout the day. It completely depends on when you want to get married! And what your dream location looks like in your head!

Congrats and happy planning! woot2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
