Just starting - Wedding website suggestions anyone?

We tried using modwedding.com. Even paid for the highest membership thinking we could use the "modcards". Unfortunately the modcards couldn't send with all the images showing properly, even their own, the textboxes weren't see-through all the time, and it would put random spacing in the titles. It was odd and unfortunate, but I could deal with it. However, after sending the website out to half our guest list to go to, most reported not being able to access it it all. Now we need to make a new one and send another email out to everyone. Frustrating process. Guess we will try wedding wire.

Sorry to hear that. :(  We're using modwedding.com but we didn't upgrade the membership. I think they are still in beta so there were a few bugs here and there but overall it's been good for us. Hope you have better luck with wedding wire!

That is really frustrating!! I'm sorry about that site.... I have really liked wedding wire so far, it was relatively easy to set up which is good because I'm not a tech guru at all... Feel free to check ours out. www.weddingwire.com/dawnandmike2014

Yeah. The only thing is with WeddingWire, adding all the guest list. I wish there was a simple upload tool for Excel files. Overall I think it has more tools than modwedding, especially when it comes to font and design. I'm still hoping modwedding can figure out and fix the reason half our guests can't get onto the site. I have a feeling it is related to the Internet provider but who knows.

That is very true about the guest list. I started using that over the weekend, and it is not user friendly... Especially not geared for us DW's. I think that maybe it can upload from excel files, as I was able to download my list into excel....

Will do! I haven't played much with it yet, just started it yesterday, but it did create an excel file for me with the guest addresses that I did get entered in. ;) I would think it will upload from excel if you put it in the same format it uses. Maybe try to enter in a few names, create a report to export to excel like I did, and see what the format is. Then put your existing excel file into that format and try to upload?

It's tricky, on the upload section it only lists import from email contacts, but if you to 'add a household' on the right it says import from excel. Did it and it worked great. Only thing is it doesn't let you add more than 1 email per household, so you have to go and edit the guests after the upload. I tried doing 'email 1' and 'email 2' to associate between people but it didn't work. No biggie, still good. Now if only I could hear back from modwedding about my refund. 3 days no reply.

Yeah, its not user friendly at all. But once you get everyone in there I think it'll be great. Its just the work of getting everyone in there... Goodluck with the refund! It can be tortuous working with online companies sometimes. Best of luck to ya!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
