Sunset Cruise in Cabo

We booked the Sunrider for our welcome dinner in two weeks. Mario has been great to work with and I think the price is reasonable for a private cruise - $50 for 30 people. I'm also stocked up with a big bottle of Dramamine...just in case!

We worked with Yolanda to reserve the boat and she has been wonderful to work with!
Hey Donie, Have you and your Fiance been on the Cabo Mar before? I wanted to do a dinner cruise and have been referred to Sunrider.. we will only have around 30 people but I am concerned because Matt, my fiance gets seasick. I would feel horrible if he got seasick during the cruise.

Hey girl!
We have not been on the Cabo Mar, but we saw it when we were down there the last time. I remember thinking, "that would be so cool to have but there is no way we could afford it". It really is huge. It is larger than the Sunrider, so I think your fiance would be less likely to get sick on it. I would say he probably would be fine with dramamine or a prescription patch, but then again it would be terrible to have the future groom sick for the cruise if it didn't work!

I know on the website it says the minimum is 50 people, but Luz maria worked out a deal for me where we guaranteed 40 people and we got the same rate we were quoted by Sunrider. Maybe she could work something out for you with 30...I would think they would be happy with any private tour, really. Maybe you could work it out so it is on one of the slower days of the week for them or something. She definitely did not even bat an eye at our 40 - so I think she would work it out for you.

Anyway, Luz Maria told her our quote from sunrider ($40/person) and she gave us the same rate including tips - which is an awesome price in my opinion!

Good Luck!
Let me know if you need any contact info or anything else for them!

Thanks for the info. I contacted Cabo Mar and they said their minimum is 50 people at $50pp. I emailed Luz Maria to see if she knew if they were able to get their min lowered and she told me to contact my wedding coordinator. From her response and her responses to a couple of other things I have emailed her about in the past, I get the feeling she feels that she shouldnt work with me on things when I have a coordinator. sad.gif

I'm sorry to hear that...sounds like she doesn't want to "step on anyone's toes" so to say with your coordinator. Did you see what your coordinator can do?

I emailed her and she said that the Cabo Mar has a 50 person min and that I would still need to pay for the 50 people at $50pp even though I wouldnt meet the min. She is out of town until the 6th of July so well see if she can work something out. I hope so.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
