Sunset Cruise in Cabo

I just received a quote back from Sun Rider Tours. For a private dinner sunset cruise on their smaller boat the "Sunrider" (which holds 65 people max) the cost was $2100. The cost was $35pp for the public tour.

The quote that I received for the larger boat the "Adventure" (holds 150 people max) was $3,300 for a private event for the first 50 people and then $40pp for any additional guests. The cost was $45pp for the public tour or a$36pp if I could guarantee 60 people. Hope this helps!

I would stay away from Escape the Sun...The only reason I say that is because I had a horrible experience!

I had booked a private cruise for 30 people. Only 22 were coming on the boat but we wanted private and the min for private is 30 so we just paid for 30.

Anyways we booked for a Thrusday.

When myself and all our guest show up at the marina with our ticket that says thursday, the guy looks confused, and has to make a call. He comes back saying, the office made a mistake and booked us for Friday instead and not Thurs. He gave us th eoption of either getting on the boat with the public cruise ( which was really full already because we were the last ones on) or we could come back the next nite...well that wasnt an option as alot of my guests were leaving that day. I was irrate. We got on, but werent happy about it because i had plans for our private cruise. 1. We were to have our first dance on top during the cruise...

From then on all he could say was call the office.

The food was disgusting, not a meal, just some slop of fajhitas. Bathrooms has about 4 inches of water on the floor. Dirty. Everything!

I emailed when i got back from the hotel and told them what happened and what i expected as compensation for our trouble and huge dissapointment, all i wanted was to get refunded the 8 poeple that we initially paid for to make 30. got a reply a few days later, they said they would look into it. So finally i recieved an email a month and half later after hounding them, and they stated they counted 25 in my party,. There was only 22...23 with a baby. babies r free.

So needless to say its been a huge dissapointment and horrible service. I know each to their own and everyone has different experiences. But this was mine and know that next time i go to Cabo, which is every single year, we def wont book with CaboSanLucas Tours.

Mineaux - that's horrible! I feel like I narrowly escaped because I debated endlessly between Escape the Sun and Sunrider but ultimately opted for Sunrider because I couldn't find any reviews of Escape the Sun and we had enough people to meet the 40 person minimum for Sunrider private tour. If I had had 22 people, I would have done what you did too.

You will save a lot of brides future disappointment by sharing your experience - thanks again.

I'm confused. Aren't the sunrider and escape the sun dinner cruises both run by Cabo San Lucas Tours? I've been in contact with them to set up or Welcome Dinner in February but they are very slow to respond. I originally was looking at 40 people and they suggested the escape the sun cruise on their catamaran that hold 40 people and quoted me $53 per person for a private cruise. It now looks like we are going to be at about 50 people. I think the catamaran would be too small, especially after hearing some of the sea sick stories! What other boats have people used. It looks to me like my choice is either the 40 person catamaran or the 200 person shared option. Did anyone else have something in between? What was the price? Are there any companies besides Cabo San Lucas Tours that do dinner cruises for this size group?

I'm getting married at the end of February and just realized I need to get this thing wrapped up!

We just had our sunset cruise 2 weeks ago, and it was amazing. We used Sunrider, and they ended up sending us on the Adventurer boat (or maybe it's just Adventure). It was private and totally perfect! The food was excellent, the service was GREAT, and the atmosphere was really fun. It was $35 pp plus tips. I definitley recommend you bring sea-sick drugs with you though in case anyone feels sick. We had about 5 people that didn't feel well until they took those and then they were all good.

PK - the Sunrider is not run by Cabo San Lucas Tours. Cabo San Lucas tours is an intermediary. I highly recommend the Sunrider sunset dinner cruise and contacting them directly - this is their website, contact Mario. SunRider Adventure - Excitement & Fun

We had a rehearsal dinner for 44 there in May and it was fantastic. Up to 60-64 I think fit on this boat - 50 would be perfect. You can see more of my comments about the Sunrider in my wedding review, but the food was far better than we thought it was going to be and the boat and crew were a highlight of the trip for our guests. No one got sick, though I included dramamine in everyone's welcome bag just in case : )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
