Good afternoon ladies!! It's been awhile since I have been on here but, I wanted to share my good news. I finally made my deposit and secured my date for July 18, 2015 at the Gran Caribe Real. I wanted the Gazebo but the max # of guest was 60 ppl so it will be on the beach at 4pm. The reception will be on the rooftop terrace. Working on securing DJ Doremixx. I just received my wedding contract so once that is signed and sent back I can move on to other decisions. My WC is Ana Perez and so far she has been very good and her response has been timely. I am using the Wright Travel Agency and my agent Virgilia has been great. They do not charge to use them and that was a definite plus for me. :D The next big things I am working on are the photographer and videographer then I will feel much better. I will keep you updated as things go along. Happy planning!!

Thats awesome! do you know if there is a group for 2014/2015 brides at this resort? I did not see any just the 2013 thread :)

Have you heard good reviews of this DJ? I set my wedding date for Feb 2015!  What are you thinking on decorations?

I am working with Ana too.. Did you chose the Albatros terrace?

If you are ok with the heat then thats good!. I went on December and its hot.. i cannot imagine if its hotter i would be melting.. :)

The intense heat starts in May ... and hurricane season is around sept/Oct

We were going to get married in Nov. but my fiance was scared of the rain after the hurricane season so pushed until Feb..

@make2dayamazing: aren't they?!?! My sister is really artistic and great at DIY projects so I am thinking this may be another bonding project for us. I have to figure out if I will do real flowers or a smaller, less "brooch-filled" version for her. I found a few Etsy sellers that sell brooches and buttons in bulk. Now to research real looking flowers....

@@girlinthecity97 i'm thinking about including some brooches in my bouquet but not an entire brooch one.

@Make2dayAmazing I know! These people are amazing with their ideas and their follow through. I've been working passport mailers and i've already spent about 4 hours on them and they're not even close to being done!

hi @@amarie4713 - i hear ya and agree. i'm torn between going heavy or interspersing brooches throughout. I saw great pics and examples on google/etsy. i'm guessing my sister's willing/unwilling participation will be the deciding factor re how little or how much bling will be added. :) though i have a feeling she may veto the idea....she doesn't know it yet, but i want her to trick out my shoes like she did her own for her wedding.  :D

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
