It is so nice knowing of all of the 2015 brides. :) I'm looking forward to hearing about your wedding progress since we almost should be on the same timeline. When in 2015 were you looking to get married? St. Lucia or Honduras both sound very romantic and memorable.

Thank you so much for your well wishes!! We are looking at possibly Oct 2015 because everything is cheaper four guests and St. Lucia and Honduras rarely see hurricanes anyway. When we first started looking we were dead set on the Dominican Republic but it just never really felt right because Punta Cana is highly commercialized and so many people get married there. My family asked us to not consider Mexico and Jamaica doesn't really have the feel we're looking for so we started looking at the other islands and everything was either too expensive or to difficult to get to until we started researching St. Lucia. When we first started looking at photos we just completely in love with the Pitons in Soufriere and we've been speaking with a wedding planner who's been extremely helpful but it is a tad bit expensive because we'd have to import our flowers but the unspoiled beauty was enough for us but then we came across Roatan Island, Honduras which is just as beautiful. It's a little more touristy then we'd like but we're still able to have the privacy that we're looking for and I honestly think people would laugh if I told them how affordable it is because they probably wouldn't believe me. Plus, both St. Lucia and Honduras are not the typical destination wedding locations and it would give our family a chance at a dream vacation that they probably wouldn't have otherwise but I look forward to following your wedding planning process and congrats to all you ladies on you engagement. It may be a long way off but good things come to those who wait :)

I got engaged on July 18, 2012 (my 20th birthday) at the Brookfield Zoo Dolphin Show. I was completely surprised and now I could not be happier.

My fiance and I have been dating 5 years and we will get married on May 25, 2015 somewhere in the Cancun area.

We have been looking at the Gran Caribe Real Resort so far. To us, it seems like a very pretty and romantic place to start our future.

I would love any opinions that any of you would like to share. My fiance and I are very open to different ideas.

I look forward to hearing all of your plans and sharing mine with all of you!

Congrats to us all!!

Congratulations to all! I am happy to know I am not the only one that is planning so far out. I just started looking at resorts so once that is decided we can send out our STD. I have been reading and seeing so many good things it's hard to decide. With the date being so far off I'm sure to change my mind so many times. I am not sure if it's too early to do a lot of things.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
