Feeling guilty...

Recommended Posts

So I bought my dress 2 months ago and haven't seen it since... I loved it when I found it (and I'm sure I will again). That being said, I bought a dress for TTD on Ebay that came in the mail, and I honestly think if I had found it first, I would have worn it as my wedding dress. I won't - because I already spent a fortune on my wedding dress AND I showed Sam the TTD dress, but I hate that I spent almost $2000 on my dress, and bought an $80 dress on Ebay that I could've been really happy with. The TTD is a simple, flowy BCBG dress, and my gown is much more traditional.

I know... I am committing a BDW felony... no pics. I will take some tomorrow for you all of the TTD dress. Its in serious need of dry cleaning to get the wrinkles out, but I LOVE it!

Interesting. That's why I won't let myself buy a second dress... or even go onto dress websites. I'm afraid I'd find a cheaper nicer dress too.

The good news is that you will have a beautiful dress for the TTD!

I also bought a brand new sample gown on ebay, beautiful beautiful dress and I paid next to nothing for it and ended up going back to the bridal salon and buying the original dress I wanted.

thinking about it now, I think I could have been totally happy with the original dress and saved myself another $800. but who knows maybe I'm wrong and when I wear MY dress I'll be ecstatic, we'll see.

are you kidding, its totally not a big deal, I bought so many dresses, don't worry. You will feel amazing and beautiful on your wedding day no matter what and once you see your real dress again you will fall in love again.

The TTD I bought really isn't a wedding dress. Its just a full length flowy chiffon gown I bought b/c I didn't want to trash my dress. I had no idea how much I'd love it, or envision it as my actual wedding dress. Its much less formal, and when I think about FI in a tux (his idea), I'd prob look ridiculous next to him.

I think I just haven't seen my dress in 2 months, and have a month until my fitting, so I've forgotten how good I felt in it. I know I love the real dress - but maybe I'll end up being a 2 dress bride. I guess I could always change later in the reception, and then the TTD would make more sense in the second dress.

Thanks Christine and Christa. I think I needed to hear that others have gone through this.

Let me share a little secret...right now I have 3 dresses (yes 3) not including the 2 I'm wearing for the actual wedding and AHR. Yes, 5 dresses total. I'll be selling 2 of them, but still that leaves me with 3 dresses (1 for wedding, 1 for AHR, 1 for TTD). stupid.gif

So don't feel bad, it happens and I bet once you see your dress again you'll remember why you chose it.

TOTALLY change dresses during the reception. I LOVE that!!!! This way you can be in the more traditional dress during your ceremony and for pictures. And then change into something less formal for the party. And you can use that same dress for the TTD . . . unless you find another dress you like for that. J/K

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
