Now Amber Resort in Puerto Vallarta Brides

Recommended Posts

@@SLetendre That's terrible! You would think with the amount of weddings they do, this is something they would have thought of and would have a way to backup files. Hopefully they come up with better compensation than just money for the video portion!

Hi everyone!

Im getting married at Now Amber on October 25. Those of you getting married in October and/or Nov, have you noticed the room costs are skyrocketing for those two months? Also, on the wedding portion of the website, it now has both months completely blocked. Last week it was not this way. Do any of you know if there is an event or anything or are there just literally weddings every day? Im concerned mostly for my guests being able to book there. Many of them are getting insane prices suddenly. Anyone have any info? It would definitely calm my nerves! :)

I was checking prices this week from calgary - I saw $3000 per person for one week. Yikes! I still have family that need to book, but discovered it's cheaper to book the room and flight separate. Expedia has good rates for the room.

On a side note, we decided to cancel our wedding at now amber and move to a different venue. We are still staying at the now amber, but decided to have the reception/ceremony elsewhere. So there a spot open November 10th if anyone wants :)

I was really worried at the beginning of your comment but thankfully I am not going with Vallarta Adventures for pictures and video. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. So disappointing! :(

For video, I found this filming service that sends you flipcams so your guests can film and they will put it together into a little video! It's so much cheaper than a videographer and you can get your entire trip in!!! Am so excited to be using this option! It's called Storymix if anyone is interested :)

I am sad to report that I have come across a BIG problem with my wedding at the Now Amber this past May. Everything was great with the wedding itself as I have previously mentioned, unfortunately I got an email yesterday from the in-house photography/videography company who videoed our ceremony, to tell me that something happened to their computer and regretfully our wedding video was lost and can't be recovered. They are offering to refund me the value of the video, although I am not sure how they would know what that is since it was included in the wedding package from the hotel, unfortunately to me nothing will replace not having that video. In my opinion it is unacceptable that a company wouldn't keep a backup of files when they are in this kind of business. I just want to warn anyone who is planning on using the in house company Adventure Photos, as this was extremely upsetting. We didn't even use them as our photographers for the day we had hired someone else, this was the ONLY thing they were doing for us on our actual wedding day.

Not to mention someone else from this company had emailed me two days prior with the tracking information for said wedding video and when I checked the tracking info after receiving this last email I noticed that it said the delivery location was British Columbia, I am located in Alberta. So I suppose they had sent us someone else's tracking information? Needless to say since we thought our video was already on it's way to us and would be arriving in time for our AHR next Saturday for everyone to view, this was even more of a shock. I am very disappointed that everyone who was not able to attend our destination wedding will never get to see the ceremony, nor will I.

As this is the company that the hotel is affiliated with and uses for the services they offer in their wedding packages I feel some of the responsibility falls on their shoulders, which is why I have posted this in the hotels forum.

Hi all!

I have just booked my wedding at the Now Amber in November of 2015, so far everything has been going really well. My contact is also Fatima at the resort, and she is very helpful.

I was just wondering for any brides who have done there weddings there if the décor that comes with the Divine package has been nice?

Fatima sent me a catalogue with extras and I seen the design packages such as: package 1, 2, 3, etc. So now I'm all freaked out if I'll have nice décor without spending an extra thousand  on color decorations. Was thinking of bringing a few things from home just to color it up a bit, possibly napkins etc. Let me know what any of you thought needed to be done!!!

Also, I'm debating doing the gazebo for the ceremony & the La Vista Terrace for the reception? Good choice??

HELP haha! :) :)

My wedding is just over a month away and as we are finalizing details we too are realizing that to make things look nice, prices for extras are EXPENSIVE. Fatima said there is a charge for having them set up decor that you bring yourself- has anyone done this. If so, how did it work and what was the cost?

Also, I offered to cover hair and/or makeup for my bridesmaids that wanted it, and those things plus my nails are costing almost $800!!!! Be warned!!! The salon is expensive and neither your 20% spa discount nor any credits from your travel agency can be used toward it!!! Gaaahh!!!

Really? How many bridesmaids do you have? I was quotes like $75 or maybe it was $65 for hair?

Well, it's $75/person for hair, and $65/person for makeup, and $150 for my mani-pedi. I have 3 BMs for hair and two for makeup, and then hair and makeup for my mom and FMIL. And this is just for people that wanted their stuff professionally done. I have two BMs that wanted to do their own stuff, so it could have been a lot more. Just wanted to give a head's up for any brides interested in these services.

On a frugal note, we are saving several hundreds by bringing our own chair sashes and table runners!

I guess it all adds up then. I decided to only pay for my bridesmaids hair since I'm buying their dresses as well. I gave them the option to get it done at $65 and they all said they will do their own!

Hi fellow Now Amber brides!

We just found out that Fatima is no longer with the company- our wedding is in a week! So we are now having to go through all of the planning details again with Edith, who was our coordinator when we originally booked almost 2 years ago. I just wanted everyone to be aware of this change in case you haven't been told yet. I'm sure everything will be fine, but I will say it didn't do much good for my already crazy nerves just one week out from our wedding! ha!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
