Now Amber Resort in Puerto Vallarta Brides

Recommended Posts

For the cheapest room (garden view) it was $1340. plus tax $350. So my guests paid under $1700 for everything.

We booked with air transat. We actually got a great deal with them. For every 5 rooms booked, we got one room free. So we have 34 guests going; which means we got 3 rooms for free...which equalled to almost $4000 back.

That's pretty similar to what we are paying! It's $1705 per person, (tax incl) in oceanview jr suites, but we get every 6th room free with air Canada vacations. We were curious how much of a discount that will get us! We've booked a swim out suite and are curious what room we will get upgraded to! I really want a master suite and am hoping to negotiate a good upgrade rate! Make sure you write a good review! Let us know how it goes.

Glad to hear I'm not alone! I'm also coming from Alberta, Edmonton specifically. We are also with Air Canada Vacations and have the sixth room free promo. Since we just switched because of the madness with the Dreams resort they only have Jr. Suite oceanview rooms left and we are paying $1430 all in. Which I think is pretty good and sounds comparable to you guys!

Kykai - I hope you have a great time and be sure to post lots of pictures once your home!

Twee13 - I agree there wasn't much for reviews. I do know though that the wedding co-ordinator I was working with at Dreams is now working at Secrets/Now Amber and she was awesome there so I'm not worried. Although I haven't heard from her in almost a week, I sent her my inforamtion to charge the deposit to hold the date and haven't heard back. So that's the only thing stressing me out right now, I just need to know it's booked! When in May are you going?

I find some of their extras are crazy expensive like the AV rentals are almost $400 more that at Dreams as well as the Dance floor is a lot more. But I'm still very excited, this resort looks awesome and I know a couple of people who stayed here and loved it.

Which coordinator are you working with? I'm currently working with Fatima and she is wonderful..her reply time is usually 24 hours. I just put the deposit down this week and am booked for 5/25/14 :). I opted out of the dance floor and some other things because it was just way overpriced.

I am also working with Fatima, in September she moved from the Dreams resort to Now Amber/Secrets. She was great for communicating but I haven't heard from her in a while so that's stressing me out. I'm just afraid someone will secure our date before she gets back to me. I think we will also be opting out of the dance floor, but I think we have to rent the speakers because we do want a dance after dinner.

Which venues did you select for the ceremony/reception? What are you doing for photography?

Hopefully Fatima can get back to you soon. I was the same way when I didn't hear from her for a few days. But don't worry...I'm sure she'll email you soon with the contract. I ended up booking the Gazebo for the ceremony and the La Vista Terrace for the reception. The terrace is a little more private and and since it's a terrace, no dance floor needed. =) We are renting a sound system for both the ceremony and reception, however opted to use our ipod for music. She quoted us $550 to rent the sound system for both ceremony and reception vs. $1k to have a DJ do it. I'd rather save my money and have the music that I want to listen to play then a DJ play music I may not even like.

As for photography, I think we're just going to use the one that it's in our package. But we may explore our options and see if there are other local photographers near the resort that may be able to quote us a better price.

What day are you trying to secure? Have you chosen a photography too? Hopefully we can get some good suggestions in this thread.

I've booked the pool deck for reception and the gazebo as well - however I've seen a few photos of ceremony's in the Libby - with the amazing view. May be nice! If you haven't, search "now amber wedds" on Facebook. They have lots of pictures. We booked an outside photographer - photoshoots Vallarta. We got a great rate since we are getting married on a Monday. What is everyone doing for decor? I'm so undecided...

We also booked the gazebo for the ceremony and the pool deck. Is the La Vista Terrace the same as the pool deck? I didn't see that option in the wedding package, if there is an option that is more private than the pool deck that would be great.

Fatima finally emailed me back so I feel much better. We have secured May 19th! I think I am also going to use the in house photographer, I found out from another bride that they have some better upgrade packages than they might tell you up front. For $799 you can upgrade and get 500 photos on a CD, so practically all of them. Since the package only comes with like 30 or something? Which isn't very many. I also looked at Photoshoots Vallarta since they offer the discount for weekday but once I found out about the upgrade package with Vallarta Adventures I just decided to stay with them, just one less thing to organize! Although I really loved Photoshoots pictures they had sent me, I'm sure they will do a great job!

I'm also stuck on decorations, Fatima had sent me a photo of the Gazebo with this white organza fabric on each post and some white flowers tied to the front to two posts. I love the look of it, its so simple and elegant, but I'm afraid to even ask her how much they would charge to do that. It's probably way more than I want to spend.

How many guests do you have coming? I have 27 right now, so the reception won't be huge, I will only need to come up with a couple of centerpieces. I might even just decide to stick mine and my BM bouquets on the tables and call it a day! I think we are going to have to bite the bullet and rent the speakers for the reception, but will opt out of the dancefloor. My cousin who is coming to the wedding is a DJ so he is going to bring his computer and do that for us. But if he wasn't my next option was to use my ipod. Are you guys having live or recorded music at the ceremony?

We also booked a bonfire for the last night we are there, so I am excited for that!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
