Glad to find this forum! And also to know that I'm not the only one slightly confused about things! My fiance and I are getting married July 17th on the Bavaro side of GP. We have the Silver package, because we are going to get legally married in Canada ahead of time, so it will just be symbolic. We are going to go with the semi-private dinner but are still debating the bbq beach party for afterwards. I've seen somewhere else on here that someone had a reception/first afterwards at one of the bars, Hemingways. I've asked Caroline but haven't heard yet.

It's going to be hot, but with the breeze off the ocean, we will be fine! I can't wait--Only 130 odd days!!

Hello everyone!  Me and my fiance have just booked our destination wedding at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana for Novemeber 2013!! Wahhoooo Well we are actually going to get married here first in Ontario and have a "renewal of vows" and just leave that part out of the ceremony so our guests won't even know.  We thought this might be easier and skip some of the paper work.  If there is anyone that could give me more info on what is actually included in the renewal package, such as what decorations, if you get to choose different colors, how many guests are included etc....... that would be great.  I have been in contact with Caroline a couple times so far, and it is just very recent that we booked, but she keeps sending me the same generic email everytime......sooo I'm a little confused. I was reading some posts on here and it looks like other brides are having the same confusion, about how their website says one thing, and what Caroline sends you says another.  PLEASE HELP lol :)  if there are anybrides out there that could give me clarity on this! Thanks in advance!!

Hello! and Congrats!! I'm also booked for the GPPC November.  When's your wedding date?

I can send you the different packages to your email if you wish but I'm sure you probably already have that.  When you say "renewal of vows" I'm assuming you're talking about the Silver Package?  It's been confusing to me when other brides talk about it because all I got from Carolina was a pdf file with the "silver package" and then the rest of them were "Karen Bussen" wedding packages.....

Either way, I'm sure you get to choose your own colors.  For the silver package there are 20 people max included, anything over that is $20 per head. This package also includes a semi-private dinner for the 20 people.  Like i said, i can send you what i have but it's probably what you already have.  If you want upgrades in decor, it will cost you.  I asked for Pomanders for the aisle and I believe she told me it's $5/each to use them and they are made with fresh flowers.

and yes, my fiance and I are doing the same...gettin married here a couple months before we head out...much easier that way I think. :) Our wedding date is Nov 8th.  I CANNOT WAIT!! :)

Im pretty sure the silver package for the renewal ceremony is for a maximum of 50 people with every person above that being 20$ extra. I am not 100% on this, It dos say this online in their wedding packages but if she told you different I would just double check with that or mention it to her. You dont want to spend more than you have too!

I was just married last month there and you do get to pick colours and flowers, if you want a square or round cake, centerpieces ect. Once you get there you will have a meeting with her. You can pretty much ask for anhing and they will try and accommodate you. Her emails are very generic and a lot of the time it looks like its just a generated e-mail with the same response. I believe I still have all the files she sent me,so if anyone needs anything or is wondering about anything else just ask and I will definitely try and help!

Hi Jenn!! I think our "renewal" is going to be on November 29th.  We fly in the 27th and Caroline emailed me back stating that she had the 29th open at 4 pm.... I emailed the form back to her to reserve that date, but I still haven't been informed if this is set in stone.  What you sent me, I already have, but I would like to find out FOR SURE how many is included in the Silver package ( the website says up to 50 & the one she sent me says 8 or something at the bottom of it & then you think 20 guests right???) lol :P,  I don't want to end up paying a bunch of extra's and it being a crazy price. I would just pick the next package up, if that makes a difference for the # of guest. We have about the same amount of poeople going as you I think....around 25-30 and there's about 6 children too.  Where are you guys from?

Hi Melissa,

Thanks for the info, I would just like to clarify it up because that's a big difference in guests, 8, 20, or 50 and I have read and heard of all three numbers so far, and that's going to make a hugh difference in pricing lol so we'll see what Caroline says, when I hear back from her.  And yes, so far her emails seem pretty generic and not very specific... I mean it's still early and I have time but still any other info you can share with me, would be awesome! :)    So what were your likes/ dislikes about the resort?

It is a big difference for sure! Im only getting the info from the palladiumweddings.com website so the information she has could be different. It can all be very confusing lol. If Im being honest there really wasn't anything I disliked about the resort ( minus a few problems after the wedding) I had the most amazing week when I was there and my wedding was better than I could of imagined. It was so hard for me to plan through e-mail because im the type of person who needs to see everything together and visualize it so I was worried about thag but everything was amazing. The resort is huge, there's so much to do and everyone is very friendly! The only issue I did have was after the wedding. We were married on a Wed. and left Sat. morning and we had brought some centerpieces and cake topper and things like that and tracking her down to get those things back was a huge hassle! We wanted our stuff back because we were having a reception back home but every time I went to her office, she wasnt there or I could never get a hold of her by phone and the front desk never helped that much and it just became such a hassle that we ended up not getting any of it back. So just be aware of that if you are bringing stuff maybe mention beforehand at the meeting with her that you want them delivered back to your room. If you have your dress steamed at all before the wedding, make sure you get the bag the dress came in back! They brought my dress back the day of the wedding just in plastic( not in the garment bag they took it in) and because I was obviously so busy with the wedding I didn't realize Until the night before we left so I pretty much spent my entire morning before leaving tracking it down so I could get my dress home on the plane, so just an FYI! These really weren't huge issues, but just so other brides know so they don't have any problems!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
