Seating charts

I'm also doing escort cards, but only assigning tables not seats.  We are just doing table numbers but they will match the cards.  I found a seller on Etsy that I like her stuff. They have a lot of great ideas on there with a beach theme.

I am doing the message in a bottle seating as in this picture and then having a bottle of wine at each table numbered...I'm not going to designate the seats though

we used a tresasure chest. The treasure inside were little bottles with guest names and tables.

I'm having a table at the front where the escort cards are displayed with each guests name and table # - they will each be attached to a maraca with string.  Got this idea from Martha Stewart website.   I have a large sign for the entry table (below).  They will then go to their table and find a seat (not assigned).  

 

I've decided to wait on final table assignment until we get to Mexico (just need to print #'s on each escort card once there).  Our guests will have a few days to get to know each other before the wedding so then I can seat people together who are getting along well!

 

This is the sign I made (etsy inspired) with cut outs taken from our extra wedding invitations.

I only have 20 people and 3 tables, so I am thinking about just writing the names on the tent-type cards I bought from Etsy and just placing them at each table.  I figure people will be able to find their way - and they can choose a different seat at the table if they don't like where it was placed.  I'm also thinking about doing just first names - trying to keep it casual but not sure if that is too non-traditional.  Thoughts?

I definitely think people can find their seats without a seating chart if you only have 3 tables.  First names, if you don't have any duplicates, seem ok - less formal but if that's what you're going for then sounds good to me!

I agree you don't require  a formal seat arrangements.  You could however, if you feel like you need to do something, you can make a sign that says something along the lines..."Today 2 families become one so pick a seat, not a side".
