      Hi ladies,

Any one have any experience with the Lomas DJ's , DJ All Music or Mega DJ? I'm already contemplating using an outside vendor for photography/videography so I have to pay the $800 there, so I'd like to know other brides' experiences with them.

      Thanks!!!

Can the Spoon restaurant accommodate more than 40 people for a reception? I'm having a hard time figuring that out.

Yes, I believe Spoon can accommodate up to 100 guests. However it is considered a semi-private event, since the restaurant is still open to others. Your party is separated by a curtain and you will have a separate set of waiters just for you and your guests.

The 40 number, comes from the fact that if you use most of their wedding packages the dinner at Spoon (for up to 40 guests) is free. Over 40 guests you pay an additional per person cost. Hope that helps!

If you click on my profile and view Galleries, in the Sensatori gallery there are some photos of the Spoon curtained area.

            Hi Everyone  :)

This is my first post Ever! Murmel, thank you SO much for all the info. You have saved me a lot of research time! My fiancé and I are planning on getting married the first week of February, 2015. I have to say it's been difficult narrowing down all the options. We still have not booked a resort and I'm getting super antsy!

We are guessing about 60 guests coming down from all over Canada. There are a lot of different things to consider. 3 of my bridesmaids have kids under the age of 2, so I'm loving the Fischer Price family suites! I also have a friend in a wheelchair, who is also doing my makeup Yay! Plus two Celiac's and 3 Vegetarians.

I've talked to one of the wedding coordinators in Miami but didn't get the clearest answers. So I'm wondering if anyone has some insight they'd like to share with me!

            1. Is the resort easy for a guest in a wheelchair to get around? I noticed from pictures that there's a big staircase that looks like it goes from the lobby to the pool. Are there elevators nearby?

            2. Are there lots of options other than salads for my Vegetarian and Celiac guests?

            3. Has anyone been able to successfully negotiate the crazy $800 outside vendor fee?

Any help would be amazing! Thanks  :D

Hi McGee2Be! Welcome to the forum and hopefully we can help. Here's what I know.
            1. Yes and no, in regards to it being wheelchair friendly. :( It's Mexico. So it is not up to Canadian standards for wheelchair access. That being said they will be able to get around to everything, although sometimes may have to take a longer route. There are elevators in all the buildings and ramps around the resort. We were just there in January with a stroller (I realize not the same) but we could push her around almost everywhere. There is even a ramp to go to the beach. I cannot remember a ramp into a pool though, so that might be out.

            2. It's a decent choice of menu. I would say the options compare to your usual Canadian restaurant in terms of choice. Plus if your guests request special changes the staff is usually able to assit.

            3. Nope. If you plan on using an outside vendor they are very firm with the $800 fee, or 3 night stay at the hotel.

The hotel is fantastic and targeted for families with kids. We were there with our 4 month old and found a crib, bottle warmer, sterilizer, baby bath, change table and stroller all set up in our room! They also offer baby food jars, high chairs and toys at every restaurant. The kids club is wonderful!

We had 63 guests for our wedding! And people still rave about it. Perfect size resort to be able to connect with people, but large enough to find a private spot. Food and service is outstanding!
