OFFICIAL Azul Sensatori Thread

Unfortunately, I don't have the new dimensions of the white Sky gazebo. It is very similar in size to the old one, although possibly a bit shorter. Thanks for the aisle length, I will add that to the list!

Darn!

I should have measured when I was there!!! I will post on the BDR thread and ask one of the girls travelling next month to take them and report back!

Does anyone have the size of table cloths/overlays needed for both the 5' tables (I understand that these are 60" tables, but if you want the table cloth to go to the ground what size do you need), and also the cocktail tables?

Thank you!!!!

Hi Ladies,

I was just wondering if there are any Canadian brides out there who are getting married at AS? Who did you use to plan your wedding? :)

If so how have you found the planning and have you run into some of the perks not being available to you as your not from the US? I know that we are not able to receive the complimentary basic wedding, it will be $950. Is there anything else?

Our wedding is in 10 months but we haven't planned anything to do with the actual wedding yet except the time and where it will be, my TA keeps saying its too early and that I will be able to meet with the wedding planner in a few months... this is stressing me out a bit as i'm not sure on so many of the options, am I being unrealistic on wanting to plan a bit earlier? lol.

@@kmk2016 are you taking your own table cloths down? I'm really hopeing to use black and white striped table cloths but I haven't found any to buy yet so I might have to make them!! Have you found anywhere to purchase them online? Thanks!

Thanks so much,

Gem :)

We are February 2016 and my TA has actually been thrilled I am so organized as it makes her job easier. She got us amazing rates from Sunwing/Signature even at this stage and our guests are busy booking. I have locked in my reception and ceremony locations, as well as my meal type (protected myself from the price increase in case it came). I will bringing down all my decor including linens. I'm only going to be renting chairs (Chivari), a clear glass Alter table and potentially a chandelier. I will be bringing everything else.

I have been working with the Florida WC who so far has been great (but I'm not rushed so maybe that's why I'm happy?), and you of course don't work with the onsite WC until arrival. We booked our DJ and I have signed our contract with our photographer as well. (Photographer is an outside vendor and I wanted to make sure I got my date- and current pricing so I didn't mind booking early)

Who is your TA? Mine specializes in destination weddings so has been great and as much of a wedding assistant than just focused on travel. (She proofed my invites and website etc).

That's so great! you seem pretty set so far :)  That's a lot to bring down but sounds amazing.

Im using a company called Marsha Steeves Destination weddings, they are a GIWC which I found on the Karisma website, don't get me wrong they have been pretty helpful, I don't want to bash them in anyway... they have their own WC package which normally you would have to pay $1650 for but we actually won the package at a wedding show they put on, so we are waiting to meet with her! So far I have booked all of the guests, 25 so far, and we have past the deadline date for deposits. I have booked our photographer, we are bringing our own from here and she will be staying for the week so we wont have to pay the outside vendor fee. Oh and we picked our wedding location.

I would really love to pick our dinner as I saw that the prices have jumped up A LOT and I haven't planned that into our budget! I'm thinking of just having the complimentary wedding but perhaps use parts of the pure glamour tables for the reception, i'm going to bring down my own table cloths but i would want everything else from the pure glamour tables... are you having center pieces? I keep hearing about 'Lomas' is this a company you rent things through?

For your dinner did you pick from the memorable moments food or from the gourmet menu? (hope that makes sense lol)

Oh and which DJ did you pick?

Sorry for all the bombarding of questions @@kmk2016! I really appreciate all the input.

Question for @@murmel or anyone else who knows. Regarding symbolic ceremony... do we get to choose our own officiant from a list they use at Karisma, and do we have an opportunity to meet with them prior to the wedding to go through special parts of the ceremony that are unique? Im assuming that if we hired someone who we could consult prior to the wedding, we would be charged the $800 fee- and we arent bringing someone with us from our travel group, so we are kind of stuck with the ceremony officiants offered by the resort. But we want to make sure they understand what we want.

I don't trust the off site WC to communicate this for us.

we were never offered a choice, but I didn't ask either. I've seen some brides who say the onsite WC does the symbolic ceremony, though I think ours was someone from offsite. He was fine, and we had a 100% customized ceremony. We gave the onsite WC a copy of the script during our meeting, and they gave it to him for the ceremony. They had also said if we had provided it ahead of time, that would have been even better.

I wasn't sure we really needed a rehearsal, so we didn't do one. My ceremony script was very detailed, including stage directions and various speakers. Though I did forget to inform the key members of the family of their roles, the onsite WC directed them as needed for me. I really have no complaints about the ceremony!

Thank you! When we were there for the BDR last month we saw several weddings and the officiant was definitely not the WC, so hopefully your recommendation will work. I will forward to the off site coordinator once we have it all planned- and then also bring a copy for the onsite and also the officiant. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
