Hello Ladies,

I was wondering if any of you have any experience or have heard reviews aboout the family style dinners offered by AS? He is Italiand and I am Guatemalan/Costa Rican...we are used to having family style dinners. I thought this would be a nice way to blend our families. However, my fear is that is may take away from the elegance feel of a plated dinner if servers just come drop off a bunch of food on table. On the flip side, I can cut down on centerpieces.. Thought would be welcome and greatly appreciated!

We are doing one of the family dinners and I think it is very elegant... It's only the side dishes and salads that get placed on the table... They do white glove service for all the entrees and guests can have a large variety of meats offering selections to each person at the table. I think it will be fabulous! I don't want my guests standing in a buffet line but I also don't want to limit their selections! Perfect compromise!!! In reading, past brides and their guests seem to have loved it!

thanks @kmk2106, I loved the idea orginally..but since I have so much time between now and wedding date, I find myself second guessing some decision I have made. I have not found any information from forum members. I think its very unique idea. and maybe each table can have their own bottle of wine too

@@linaco80 I was just reading through your questions to murmel and they are awesome questions... ones I was just asking myself hence why I was re-reading the thread! I'm not sure if you've already had your wedding or made your decisions but one tip I was given in terms of bridesmaid flowers and center pieces is to use them for both! Get bridesmaid bouquets.. I am having all rose in white and ivory for $65 each and then I am renting glass vases from lomas which I will put the bridesmaids bouquets in to make the center piece! Its not like they can take them home with them anyways :) It just depends on how many tables you have compared to bridesmaids... I have 5 bridesmaids and only 4 tables so im good. Just an idea for you :)

@@murmel I heard you mention the alfresco location... which one is this... I don't recall being offered it, I really wanted the plaza zavas but unfortunately its already booked on my wedding day so we moved it to palapa yoga... but im really doubting it now :( I'm just worried about it not being pretty enough. We also aren't having a DJ but will be moving on to one of the bars after at the resort. Do you recommend asking someone to be a MC for us?

Thank you so much for helping everyone on this forum... I really feel lost sometimes but then I come on here and am instantly reassured! Thank you, thank you!

How many guests are you planning for? There are many reception locations, but it depends on your party size. Check out the first page of this thread. I have posted photos with the names/locations of reception sites (as well as size limitations).

For a large group, if Zavas Plaza is booked, I would likely choose the yoga palapa/beach location next. However if your group is 40 people or less, I love the Zocolo Al Fresco (it's the patio portion on the back of the Mexican restaurant. Sheltered, private, beautiful ocean view. Close to bathrooms, bar.

Hello!

I put of bunch of photos in my gallery from the BDR in November.

There were quite a few weddings that weekend which I totally creeped on. I did my very best not to be intrusive and took photos just of the stuff and not of people.

I hope you ladies find the pictures helpful!

@@reidbride2015 Thank you very much :) yeah so many ideas...the bouquet can be re used and that is a great idea thanks :)...I also was thinking that instead of flowers I could do candles and shells since it is on the beach..I went to Hobby Lobby this week and got a whole bunch of shells and coral sand trying to make center pieces. I will have the vintage elegance decor ceremony and my TA told me that I could use those flowers also as a centerpiece...plus adding some shells and candles (found ideas on Pinterest)

As far as the girls I was thinking a corsage, then moved to a single flower and then moved to a real touch flower from a company that another bride sent me. A nyhow I dont really know yet thank you so much :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
