OFFICIAL Azul Sensatori Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies!! I am having my wedding at Azul Sensatori on June 23. I found out that the rehearsal dinner that comes with the package is a set menu selected by the chef. I have a lot of picky eaters and feel bad about making people come to a dinner that they may not like when they are paying to have all inclusive access to the resort. I was considering doing the Smore's bar at night. Has anyone done this and will it be worth the $600 I will pay for my guests?? I would really like to do something fun and non traditional, but want to make sure it worth the $$. Any feedback and suggestions are welcome!!!

Hi April,

We are just looking into booking our wedding for February 2014 now.  I like the date you chose, (it's my birthday! woot.gif).  I've been searching around for more info about this Smore's party and haven't had too much luck.  Have you heard any more about this?

I don't have direct experience with the smore party, but from a few brides that have here are the highlights:

1) lots of great snacks (fruit/chocolate/marshmallows/etc)

2) great service (you are attended to by a minimum of 1 bartender and then usually 2-3 wait staff; depending on party size)

3) guests loved the experience

4) they set up white wooden folding chairs around the fire for seating

5) the only downside, limited time with the bonfire, and the bonfire is fairly small

Hope that helps.

So I was advised by my WC that the ONLY outside vebdors they now allow is the photographer! Even with the offer of an $800 vendor fee, they still said NO to an outside DJ! Obviously I am disappinted that I do not get to select my own vendors for my wedding. I did a search for "DJ All Music" and it brought up hundreds of threads (those words are pretty common!!), can anyone give me some feedback on their experience with DJ All Music? I have seen the pricing, there is so mention of a dance floor, so that's one question I have! Thank you!

Wow! That's news to pass on. Thank you. I did not have a DJ. But this is good information for future brides to know.

I'm a long term stalker but have never actually posted. Our wedding is this August at Azul Sensatori! I've reached out to our WC but she is slow to get back to us. I have a quick question about the dinner options for the reception that I am hoping you ladies can help me with... Is the pick and choose menu option designed for us (the bride and groom) to pick ahead of time? if so how many options can we choose for our guests to select from? I am trying to get the final wording ready for our invitations and need to know if I should include dinner choices. As you can see, I'm a little behind on planning :) TIA for your help!

Yes it is, my wedding is in June and we did pick and choose, you have to narrow it down to two choices for you and your guests. We selected the filet & lobster and herb roasted chicken. We sent out food choice cards so our guests could select from these options. Make sure you ask your guests to initial or indicate who chooses what because the resort will ask you to make cards at each guests seat indicating what there food choice was. Hope that helps!

Welcome!

In the pick and choose menu (we used this for our wedding 2 years ago, so I am going with what I was told then. Hopefully it is still correct).

We were told we (bride and groom) had to choose: (everyone will recieve the same of these courses)

- the appetizer

- the soup or salad

- the dessert

You are then allowed to offer your guests the choice of 2 entrees (example steak or chicken). (and if you have any vegetarians this is above that choice, so technically you offer 3 things) These choices have to be received by your WC 6 weeks prior to the wedding (but again that was what I was told. And we had 3 guests join us with less than 2 weeks notice prior to the wedding, and I was still able to make dinner choices for them) As well, be prepared that you have to have some way to indicate their meal choices at the dinner (ie. name tags on the tables with different colors- red for steak, blue for chicken.)

So a simple meal choice card for guests, or email would work. Such as: Please choose your meal preference by June 15: Steak____ Chicken____ Vegetarian____

Hope that helps!

I think I have final decided to go with this resort!!! After so much research this resort will allow me to be and add all the extras where needed. I am trying to keep cost down so I am thinking about going with a package that includes a semi-private reception and just head over to the Mojito lounge when we are done VS paying for a private reception. I don't think I will have the minimum amout of guest for a private event any ways. And I will be having a reception back home after we return.

I haven't booked my date yet, but it will be September 6, 2014....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
