Mother of Bride/Groom Outfits

What are your Mom's wearing for the ceremony?

My Mom just picked two outfits (one dress and one pantsuit) and will decide which one looks better once they arrive. She picked a turquoise/aqua color, which is one of our wedding complement colors.

So, I think I'll tell my FMIL to look for something coral in color (which is our other complement color).

This is the pantsuit my Mom picked. She doesn't have a pic of the dress yet.

Any thoughts?

Well, the jacket is a sheer fabric with a tank underneath. So, hopefully not. She likes the jacket options on outfits anyway. I looked at a close-up pic on the website and it's a really sheer jacket. Very summery.

Very nice! Glad to see I'm not the only one who wants to tell mom and future mil what color to wear.

I'd be interested in hearing other's experience with the heat in sheer long sleeves. I have a few people who are self conscious about showing too much arm.

That's how my Mom is (not wanting to show too much). Our ceremony is closer to dusk, and in April, so I don't think we'll have heat issues like many of you other brides.

Actually, funny thing was, I told Mom whatever color she wanted ... but when she told me that both outfits she found were in that aqua blue color, I told her PERFECT b/c aqua and coral are our complement colors, so now I figure his Mom sholdn't have any trouble finding something coral and I think it'll look great. His Mom is about as big as my pinky anyway, so everything looks good on her..bunny_4.gif

I know what you mean, my BM dresses are tangerine and we have chocolate brown, kiwi green and cream as the other colors. So I wanted to stay within the brown family. I ordered her this dress in two different colors.Click the image to open in full size. andClick the image to open in full size.

I love the copper rose color--of course, she doesn't. She likes the blue, which is nice but I'm afraid it may clash...maybe not, just want her to be comfortable, likely be in the high 80s...

Since Maggie has asked her guests and her maids to wear variations of white, I bought a long (middle of calf) cream colored, chiffonish skirt by Lauren, that has layered vertical ruffles. Sounds weird, but very lovely. It has a cami and a shear long sleeved jacket/blouse to wear over the cami. I will try to post a pic tomorrow.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
