Are donkeys allowed at a Mexican Fiesta-Themed wedding at Ocean Coral & Turquesa?

Recommended Posts

Hi everbody who has gotten married or will get married at Ocean Coral & Turquesa!

Has any one had a donkey at their wedding at OCT, or are planning on having a donkey?  If so, when was your wedding, or when are you getting married?

I am wondering if OCT permits a donkey to be rented?

I am having a Mexican-Fiesta Theme for my wedding and a donkey would work very well along with a Mariachi band.  I know that I can hire the Mariachi band  through the resort, and I plan to do that.   But who do I contact for a donkey to appear for a short while, maybe 45 to 60 minutes?  I know Planner 1 Events is the vendor that OCT deals with, and Planner 1 has donkeys for rental.  I am wondering if anyone has actually rented one for their wedding, and how did it go?

Thanks for any info you may have~

Just in case anyone else is interested in having a donkey at Ocean Coral and Turquesa, I am going to post a response to my own question.  OCT  finally responded to my email, and now  I know the answer.  Ocean Coral And Turquesa Resort does not allow live animals on their property.  Something really wierd, however, is that the WC said she will try to find a "fake donkey" for us and see how much it would cost.  I have never seen a fake donkey, and I don't know what she means -- is it like a deer head mounted on a wall?  How about a stuffed donkey on wheels?  How about a rocking donkey (like a rocking horse) that kids ride on???  Who knows, but I can't wait to see what they come up with. I can't believe that we would have to pay for a fake donkey!

Wow!  I had absolutely no idea that such a thing existed!  Who would have ever thought of a stuffed donkey???   That donkey is a lot better looking than I thought it would be, but in no way would I be willing to pay $ to rent it.  PS: Gotta love those wheels, haha!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
