I still have a few people that have said they'd pay, but I'm still waiting.  That's fine ... just make sure you send your weigh in this week.  Then pay when you can!

Does anyone want to take on posting work out or diet challenges?  That's all up to you.

you did send a week early, do you want me to use that?  actually might throw off the "weekly loss" and the final too.  can you weigh in again?

I'll send my weight pic today. Guess that means I'll be weighing in on Tuesdays.

To introduce myself...

you ladies can call me Reign :) I got engaged in March of 2012 and am getting married in April of 2014 in Punta Cana, DR. Been with my fiance for 3 1/2 years (5 by the time we get married).  His family is from DR so that makes the destination special to us.

I'm definitely the heaviest I've ever been in my life. Metabolism is slowing on down, so I have to change my lifestyle so I won't keep steadily gaining weight! Not only that but I refuse to allow myself to try on dresses or take engagement photos until I drop at least 10 pounds! Engagement pics are scheduled for next month so this challenge came at the perfect time. Motivation, yes!

My other motivation is that I am a bridesmaid in my future sister-in-law's wedding in July, and she's 21! (I'm 30). She and her bridesmaids are all like the size of my pinky finger, and I refuse to look like a giant next to them on her big day! We went to try on BM dresses and I fit a size 16!!!! Unacceptable. I'm a 10 in real life....why do they make bridal and BM dresses run so small! Does nothing for my self-esteem. Haha

Excited to get started. I'm known for doing cleanses and detoxes. I've been cutting my portion sizes in half for the past 3 weeks and I think I've dropped about 5 lbs. Haven't weighed myself yet but I will later today. I'm also trying to exercise at least 3 times a week, which has actually become more like 1-2 times a week, but I'll have to step it up if I want to win! :)

Nice to meet all of you!

What cleanse/detox plans do you ladies follow? I am just getting started on having a more diligent Paleo diet. Basically no carbs or processed foods or sugar, everything should have lived at some point, all that jazz! I'm doing alright so far, really need to eat right now though. Also trying to replace at least one meal a day with a protein shake and no meals after 7pm. Wish me luck!

I did paleo for 8 weeks and lost 14 lbs. I liked it for a jump start, but I don't buy all the science behind it. Like, I can't believe that quinoa and lentils are bad for you. But I did like it when I did it. Now I'm doing a 21 day plan from whole living magazine. Week 1 is no meat, dairy, gluten, sugar, etc. basically just veggies, fruit and lentils. It stays no dairy, gluten, sugar but adds fish week 3.

@kisha311 I also did Paleo for a couple months back in Sept-Oct and I enjoyed it. But it wasn't quite me, I missed my beans. I stopped because I started working, there is a lot of prep time for Paleo meals. I plan to do a one day detox which consists of smoothies, juices, etc. all day ... All of which I will make myself. I have to do this on the weekend. Now I am just following a couple of basic principles unpicked up from my reading: I try to eat things that nourishes my body. I restrict empty foods. The nutrient boost is in the morning. For instance my meals for yesterday consisted of: Breakfast - Vegetable Smoothie made in my Blentec (Coconut water, spinach, celery, Carrot, half a green apple, parsley, Spirulina powder) Snack - banana chips Lunch - hummus and multigrain tortilla chips (gluten free) Snack - blood orange Dinner - black bean casserole

I have a juicer and have juiced on occasion and really liked it a lot. I will probably start juicing for either breakfast or dinner and having a real meal for lunch sans carbs. I haven't bought into the entire Paleo lifestyle either, but it's cool overall. My work schedule can be out of control in the blink of an eye so too much thought/work/or prep time will not work for me. You ladies are doing pretty good though.

Wow you ladies really seem to know what you are talking about when it comes to diets! I've never even heard of the paleo diet!? I don't know what my diet is or would be called if it is a diet at all but it has worked for me in the past. It isn't too drastic and fairly easy to maintain. All I do is limit my 'healthy' carbs to before 4pm and try to eat no refined carbs all, that is difficult when it comes to soups however. So things like oatmeal and and whole wheat bread and potatoes but only before 4pm. I also really increase my protein and of course lots of fruits and veggies and some healthy fats. So a day might look like..... Breakfast: oatmeal with agave nector, and piece of fruit Lunch: a salad with low cal dressing or simply olive oil and lemon with a can of tuna (I love clover leafs tuna in olive oil... So yummy) some cottage cheese, apple. I might replace with salad with a can of soup and add raw veggies Snacks tend to be fruit, yogurt, nuts, cheese, or veggies Dinner: a protein like chicken shrimp salmon or beef with a salad and a cooked veg, or a stir fry I ate this way a year and a half ago before going to the caymans and dropped 5lbs in two weeks with out exercise. Unfortunately I ate horrible in the cayans!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
