Sheraton/de Cortez private or not?

Well, we have most of our rsvp's back now and our guest list is turning out a bit smaller than we thought. I'm happy about this because I wanted small, but it brings up a dilemma with the Sheraton. By my projections, we are 1000's of $ short of the minimum to have the de Cortez restaurant private for our event.

Has anyone done a wedding here and not had the restaurant private? Are you just mixed in with all the other guests? Where do you do the dancing and cocktail hour?

Our group is about 75 people.

Or, has anyone done a site visit, and can you visualize how this would work?

Would love to hear your thoughts...

Not sure if I will be much help, I had our wedding dinner there however we only had a table for 8 (includes us) But they gave us the upper level to ourselves. And to be honest with you I had no clue who was there because I was in my only little world. :-) I have pictures of the dinner, however they are on my DVD at home. If you PM me I can send you a link to our wedding pictures and I'll tell you what folder to look under for the pictures.

You'll be fine without having the whole restaurant. Are you going to ask for the outside area or the inside area? I can't remember how many people they can fit outside. Also, there's a patio above the restaurant for larger groups so that's an option too.

I LOVE it there - that's a great place for a reception.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
