Hi Mirandasjb,

We love the smaller boutique hotels along the Riviera Maya and on Cozumel. There are several we would recommend and we do so on our blog. You can read about them here.

Don't miss looking at Le Reve, The Viceroy and Al Cielo near Playa del Carmen; Las Ranitas, Be Tulum and Ana y Jose in Tulum; and Hotel B on Cozumel.

I think you have made a wise choice to go to a small property where your wedding will be the only wedding on that day. You'll certainly receive more attention from the staff. Choosing a small place also will mean that their won't be a crowd of people in swimming suits in the background of your photos.

Good luck,

Jennifer

Hello miranda! First of all, congratulations!

If you are looking for a small resort you could try with Le Reve. Here are photos from our latest work at this resort:

I have to agree with Wedding Cancun and mandjphoto.  Le Reve is a beautiful boutique hotel with 25 rooms.  I was lucky enough to visit Le Reve in December and thoroughly enjoyed my time there!  Here is a picture I took while enjoying lunch by the pool:

If you are looking for an intimate setting, this is the place to go.  The wedding coordinator, Arlenis, told me how a lot of their brides/grooms book the entire hotel which makes the wedding week/weekend even more special as all of your loved ones are in one location.  Le Reve is a BDW sponsor and you can find out more about their hotel and view images from past weddings HERE.

Good luck with your wedding planning process and let us know what you decide!! :)

Hey Ladies!

Smaller towns like Isla Mujeres and Tulum have many smaller boutique hotels that are perfect for an intimate romantic wedding!  There are also options to suit all budgets in each location!  Check out the following weddings to get an idea of the potential of smaller hotels:

Tulum - Missy & Tom

Isla Mujeres - Jessica & Daniel

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
