Hi ladies,

Wondering if anyone has any recommendations of things to do or places to check out for a fun bachelorette day/night? I'm getting married at the Grand Palladium. Was thinking maybe snorkeling with sea turtles? Any suggestions?

Thanks :)

hi there!

you could certainly do a snorkeling/day trip with the girls, depending on what you gals all enjoy. there are so many excursions available - ATVs, snorkeling, zip lines, mayan ruins (Tulum, COBA or Chitzen Nitza). and you can snorkel a number of different ecosystems. My friends did one that went to a cenote, a cave, and then off the beach. They got to cliff dive into the cenote too. they really enjoyed it!

If you're looking for reputable tour companies, I can recommend either Olympus Tours or Lomas Travel. We did excursions through Lomas, and our friends/family went through Olympus.

Hope that helps!

I suggested to my girls that we should host the bachelorette party upon arrival at the resort- it would def save people money, unfortunately, not everyone is flying in on the same days and I don't want to do it the day before my actual wedding. I'm getting married in DR- but I went to Mexico last year and we absolutely loved the XPLOR park- we want during the day and went ziplining, ATV-ing, swimming in a cenote, and rafting. They also include a buffet lunch. Another activity my fiancé and I enjoyed was a jetskiing ATV package. At the end of the jetskiing we ended up at a bar on the beach with swings as chairs. Both excursions were arranged through a tour company. I want to say Olympus but I'm not certain. We just went to the table they had in the Lobby and signed up the day before. Finally- the best excursion for a bachelorette party that we did was the Party Bus. For $75 a person, a van picks you up at your hotel (there are other stops at other places too) and they take you to three hot night spots. The first was señor Frogs, the second a lounge called The Pink Elephant and the night ends at CocoBongos which includes a live show of trapeze artists, celebrity impersonators, lazer light shows- and it's interactive. All drinks are included at all three bars, and the tour guides act like babysitters- they bring the drinks to you- my hand was never empty, and they make sure you get back on the van when it's time to go to the next spot. For the price and service it cannot be beat. We D's the jetskiing an ATV package which was $95 and also worth it- jetskiing alone costs that at some places- during the day- came back to the hotel for dinner and to shower and change and then we were off on the party bus. It was a fun filled day. I Totally recommend the party bus but id make a whole day of it. For my bachelorette were doing a road trip. We live in NY and since DR is costing our party money, we wanted to do something cheaper for bachelorette. We are driving to P-Town MA or Oceand City MD- both are 5 hours away, crashing all of us in one room (can anyone say sleeping bags) and beaching it during the day, seafood dinners, bars and lounges at night. Low key and cheap. My fiancé is also doing a road trip to Montreal- also about a 5 hour drive- and going fishing with his buds and then lounges at night. They already booked their trip.

I live in PA and we are planning on doing a party boat in NYC which is about an hr and fifteen min away, then staying overnight at one of the hotels. Either that or AC, my fiance was looking into flying to Vegas and staying overnight, then coming back next day.

Since you are in the Mayan area, I have to recommend Hidden Worlds. It is less publicized but SO awesome. A great day trip. We went four of us, and there was only another couple or two in the area at all... you are on your own with your guides, and there is a photographer capturing everything the whole time (then you can buy the CDs after with pictures - worth it!) There are different packages you can do. They have a great zipline area, with unique ziplines... like riding a "skycycle" through the jungle, or ziplining down into a cenote, or a zipline roller coaster. You can also snorkle in the cenotes (the caves were very cool!). And there is a little shack-type restaurant great for lunch right there (not included in price... I think when we went everything was 10 bucks). It looks questionable, but I swear, the best Mexican food ever. I HIGHLY recommend checking it out.

So why not spend the day doing that, then in the evening head out to party? Or even just make it a theme and stay at the resort? Would definitely save some money. :)

I think we are doing a spa weekend away before we go. Renting a place where we can all bunch up in, and doing whatever. The girls are talking Banff. My MOH is only 17, so going out to bars or whatever is not an option. I am also having some friends and stuff who are not coming to the DR with us, but are planning on coming out to the AHR. Whatever - the more the merrier!

Hey Ladies!

For daytime activities, snorkeling is a great way to enjoy the local wildlife!  We highly recommend The Snorkel Shop for snorkeling tours in the area.  They are a smaller company that offer great personal service and get great TripAdvisor reviews!  Another fun idea would be a version of a TTD where the girls all get dressed up for underwater pictures in a local Cenote or beach!

Happy Planning and let us know if we can help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
