Yes, next time I need to get in touch with them, I will for sure call the resort myself.

Hi Ladies!

Congrats to all the future 2014 brides, so exciting...and stressful, who knew! lol

I'm freaking out a little bit, we are getting married april 20, 2014, as of now we have 75 booked, insane! We had origionally booked the private restaurant ( we were only expecting 40-50 to book) but im second guessing it now with a minimum cost of $45/pp with such a large number.

Basically from what i've read, the only options are ;

1. private dinner ($)

2. a la carte for 30 guests at most (free)

3. buffet

so am I correct in assuming with this many guests and without paying a per head price my only option is buffet?? Does anyone know if its possible to pay to rent out an a la carte? I've read posts that said yes but that was in 2008/2011 posts.

Thanks so much, I'm also having a hard time getting a response and I do understand the weddings are still a year away but a woman needs to plan!! lol

Wow! That's a large group...it will be pricey at $20 per person after the included 8 plus $45 per person for the private reception. You could do the buffet (included) or rather than the private reception, you could do a cocktail reception at $15 per person. I haven't seen anything about renting an a-la-carte. I can't see them doing that because that would mean closing it to the rest of the resort guests. I don't know yet how many we will have actually book, but I sure wish I did!! I understand the wanting to have a plan to confirm what you will actually choose to do! Good luck and keep me posted!

Hey everyone! I am going to talk to my travel agent tomorrow about switching to GPJ, it looks amazing, Our wedding is booked for march 3rd, 2014 at the Riu MoBay, we stayed at the riu this year and absolutely loved it! However we just got our group rates back for this trip which are hardly "group rates" at all, not even close to what we expected or what we expect our guests to pay! I'm hoping our travel agent will have more luck contacting the coordinators, I hear they are busy and hard to get ahold of... I am slightly freaking out that nothing will be available!! :( Fingers crossed I will be posting again in this group!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
