Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, Congradulations to all the ladies! You gals are such early planners! I live in Vancouver, BC Canada and is currently using Fligt Centre TA as they have a destination wedding special office located in North Van. The TA is currently sending out a quote request to different airline/vacation providers for a quote on 3 different resorts. Once the quote is in we willmake a final decision on resort, but i have my heart set on GPJ! My wedding date is Feb 20-24, 2014 (im flexible). Question: where do i find more information on the different venues available for private recption? Like pics of Blue Lagoon etc to see thr ambiance? Any info appreciated! Happy planning ladies!

I have read some reviews and the price for the private reception are around $45/person, depending on what you select for the menu. You can select either the Poseidon or Blue Lagoon restaurant and you have it from 6-10pm. I believe the free a la carte is for a maximum of 30 persons, and there is a private buffet option which is for groups of 50 or more if you want a buffet style.

A la carte is cheaper bc its with other people in the restaurant, private receptionis min $45 to $70 per person. Unless u choose a different menu, gala menu - then the price can go up to $90 per person (most expensive) for private reception u can choose either poseidon or the blue lagoon. If u want a buffet style reception (beach available) you need a min of 50 people

So we've booked! Finally :) May 5th, 2014 4pm. We had been looking for the 6th, but the time was taken, and I didn't fancy having the ceremony any earlier than that. When I sent in my info for the deposit, she also confirmed that we could have the Poseidon as well, which is perfect. Yay! The only other things I'm worried about looking at now is Hair/Makeup, and photography. Once we book those, I'm so happy to sit back and relax until we get closer. No sense at all worrying about menus and spaces and entertainment until we're at least in the same year :)

Hi all, Just engaged! GP is my dream so hoping it doesn't take too long for a reply from them! Just emailed yesterday, looking at a few dates in April. I am a little unsure about how exactly the pricing works with the ceremony (ie. how many ppl are free, if any) and how the receptions work(privacy, cost, etc.)? I am looking to keep costs down but would def. like a la carte and not buffet. Thinking the guest list will be about 30. Not sure how many will confirm but would love to get same date so I can get save the dates out to allow for my guests to save and book. I am in NY and need a travel agent. Does anyone feel that they got a great deal and love their TA? Looking forward to your replies. Congrats and good luck to all. :) Kristy

Stacey Clarke--  is THE BEST :)   I HIGHLY recommend her. She did my wedding at GP last week. She's awesome and took amazing pics. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
