any 2014 grand palladium jamaica brides about yet?

Had a reply from our TA for pricing... more than we wanted, but not undoable. However the best package I can get for this gives me 1 week to get everyone's deposits in! That is very disappointing. We may end up looking into Riu Negril, they had the next best pricing. I have my heart set on GPJ though, so we'll see!

Looks like we may be getting it after all! Decided that between this or Riu, for the extra cost I think that this is the better choice. Now just have to try and get deposits in, dates booked, and then away we go!

If you don't mind me asking, what was the rate you received?

I'm wondering what the private dinner reception prices are like. I heard it includes a dinner in the a la carte restaurants but it isn't private

I have read some reviews and the price for the private reception are around $45/person, depending on what you select for the menu. You can select either the Poseidon or Blue Lagoon restaurant and you have it from 6-10pm. I believe the free a la carte is for a maximum of 30 persons, and there is a private buffet option which is for groups of 50 or more if you want a buffet style.

Thank you! The coordinator did get back to me with pricing and all the menus, so this pretty much sums up what she told me.

Received some bad news today that the Blue Lagoon is already booked for our date. Not very impressed as my fiance has a severe allergy to seafood and fish, and Poseidon is a seafood restaurant. I don't really trust that even if they can serve non-seafood dishes. I'm not really keen on taking a risk like that on such an important day. I am hoping there are other options for a private reception otherwise I may have to change resorts. I really don't want to spend more than $45/person, which is already steep enough, for the private buffet. Guess booking a year in advance wasn't early enough...

My son is having the same problems, so has handed it over to me to sort out.  Rui is booked for most of January, so we are scrambling again with dates and location.

We are now looking at this resort. I am not familiar with it. Adult only resort are out because of children attending.

So the $45.00 per person price they quoted is for a buffet as well, not a sit down?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
