Hey future brides...only 3 months left. I just thought I'd create a thread since we all have the same wedding month My date is April 13,2013 im tying the knot at the Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana, im having a Canadian hairdresser come in the resort for the day, having a beach ceremony and a private reception afterwards, im going with the resort photographer, for my dress, my travel agent has contacted the airline to have the dress put in the wardrobe on the plane, I now have to decide for the smaller details, my WC has sent me pics for cakes and the bouquet but i believe i will go with pink and white roses, as my chair sashes are pink... post your wedding details, and congrats to all brides

Hi, I see that you are from Montreal, Congrat's on the wedding. We are getting married May of next year. I heard mixed reviews of how complicated it is for the process the the fee's associated with getting married. i was hoping you could give me some piece of mind that getting married in the Dominican wont be the same as getting married in Ottawa or Montreal.

Congrats! My fiance and I are getting married April 16,2013  in Aruba! We are getting married and staying at the Bucuti and Tara Beach resort! It will be here before we know it Good luck finalizing!

Awesome, 3 days after us!! Aruba seems so beautiful, ive never been but I've heard amazing things, congrats to you both, are you pretty much done finalizing everything? we have booked over a year ago, now just the smaller details to be completed!! YAY!!!

Getting married in Grand Cayman on April 19 right on the beach just in time for sunset.  I am in the midst of RSVP hell at the moment     We are using all local vendors for everything.  The smaller details and deciding on menu will come when I get a better idea of a headcount.  I am not enjoying the planning process, but hope all turns out to be worth it in the end.

We are getting married April 25th 2013. It's coming up sp fast. I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with all of these DIY projects I want to do. All of our final trip payments are due march 1st so I will be able to do more finalized planning once I know how many are coming for sure. My shower is on January 20th. We are doing a breakfast at Tiffany's theme and then our stag and Doe is in march. I need to take these parties one a a time or I'm going to go crazy. Happy happy planning-

UPDATE: RSVP Hell has been averted.  Repeat, it has been averted. lol   I've gotten a lot of RSVPs just in the last week and we pretty much have a good idea of our final headcount now.  So relieved!

Hi ladies! Congrats to you all on your upcoming weddings! I'm a May 2013 bride that happens to live in Playa Del Carmen in the Riviera Maya. I saw that there were a couple of brides in this thread that are getting married down here.

 

First, I wanted to offer my assistance if either of you has any questions about the area. We've been living down here for a year now and know the area quite well. Throw any questions you may have my way!

 

Second, I'm in the process of collecting some decor for our rustic vintage themed wedding down here on May 22nd. I'm having a hard time finding everything I need since the area caters mostly to tourists and doesn't really have a ton of options in the way of home decor. If anyone having their wedding in Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum or anywhere in between would like to sell some of their decor items to me please let me know! This may also help with baggage fees on the way home

 

These are some of the things we are still looking for:

 

- anything that would suit a vintage or rustic style wedding

- fans in lighter shades of pink, teal, lavender, ivory or just made of wood

- a birdcage (rustic looking if possible)

- string lighting of any sort, exposed bulb and christmas lights

- props and frames for a DIY photobooth (nothing too cheesy, we're think more of a "gentlemen & ladies" style"

- oil lamps

- tin buckets of various sizes

- a parasol in any shade of purple, teal or turquoise

- small glass candleholders

- burlap or lace runners that would fit rectangle tables for 10-12 people

- white or teal paper lanterns 

- white or teal paper picado (as long as its not personalized of course)

- anything else that's ivory, blush, lavender or turquoise
