Hi all! Newly engaged but know we want our date as May 5, 2014 down in Mexico. We attended a wedding at Dreams Tulum Which was amazing and is now our inspiration for our own wedding. However the only downfall was the long ride (took us 2 hrs) from the airport .. Anyone know of any comparable resorts that still have that private intimate feel yet a closer trip to the airport?

Can't help with Mexico, but just wanted to say CONGRATS on your engagement :)

I'm getting married in the DR and the bus ride had to be short (request of my parents) so I looked in the travel catalogue, and they tell you the distance from the airport, I was able to eliminate a bunch that way... and then proceed to eliminate all the adults only, and then all the too expensive ones.. you should end up with 3-5 resorts, you look at reviews on tripadvisor, pictures.. and you should be able to make a choice ! Good luck !

Welcome to BDW!

Dreams Tulum is a great place to get married.  I am a past Dreams bride (but in cabo).  The drive to tulum can be a little long for some people.

Have you thought of doing a site visit?  Karisma Hotels and one of their resorts would be perfect for your group. Azul Beach is a smaller boutique resort.  Karisma Hotels is offering this great promotion called Karisma Bride's Dress Rehearsal for brides that if you have NOT booked your wedding with them.  You and your fiance can stay at any one of their resorts for $399, meet the wedding department, check out wedding locations, taste the food, meet wedding vendors, etc.

Then you can expend your stay for a few days to check out the other resorts.

Another option is Le Reve.

We are also holding Wedding webinars with a bunch of resorts this spring so you can sign up and see what the different resorts are offering.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
