2013 Wedding Brides- sound off!

Hi Ladies, my name is Bry and we'll be getting married in Alaska in September 2013. We haven't nailed down a specific date of the cruise yet since we we're still not sure about getting a symbolic ceremony at sea done, or if we'll do it in a port.  We've invited about 40 people and so far half have put down their deposits so far.  Janel0901 I'm really debating what to give for OOT bags too. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on them, and they have to be relatively easy for transport as well.  I was searching online and saw some ideas that were pretty simple - small snacks like cookies/chips, bottles of water, chocolate, coffee/tea/hot chocolate/ maps etc. My only issue is that the cruise provides all of that stuff for the most part, including maps... hmmmmmmm....

I'm also stumped on what to do to make the cruise wedding personalized. We're probably getting married in port on the ship, so it might be a little harder in my case.  Thoughts anyone?

Best of luck to all! And thanks to Tandtglass for starting this thread!

Congrats Maggie39! Yes, you've got plenty of time! Janele- I am slowly working on my OOT bags as well. There's an entire forum on the OOT bags on this site. Be sure to check that out, as they have great ideas with pictures. We were at $10/bag when we had 75 guests, but now that we've doubled that, we've gone down to $5/bag for our budget. I've already purchased cd's that we're making our guests, and probably Dramamine, aleve, and pepto, then hand sanitizer, and something else for them to use on the cruise. We are getting drawstring bags made with our monogram and logo for everything to go in. Good luck and keep us posted on what you find!

Hi Ladies, I'm Heather and we're getting married aboard the Carnival Fantasy July 4, 2013 in port at Nassau. I sent my save the dates out in the beginning of September and am in the process of ordering formal invitations! We have about 10 booked guests and expect 10-15 more to book in the next month. I've order OOT bags from vistaprint,  ordered travel mugs from oriental trading (many more than I need) and many items to put in them.

Hi All,

My fiance and I are getting married on the Carnival Glory out of Boston on embarkation day, July 9th 2013.  This is a 2nd marriage for both of us and we are looking forward to joining our familes as one.  Between the two of us we have 4 children, ages 9, 10, 11, 12.  Both sets of our parents are sailing as well as a couple of friends.  We have an additional 20-30 people coming aboard for the ceremony/reception.

Just from reading these few posts, I am feeling a little behind.  I need to get things moving!!  Good luck to all!

Hi Everyone,

Getting married on the Carnival Breeze 7/6/13 on embarkation day in Miami, FL.  Carnivals "The Wedding Experience" has been helpful, and always available, in answering questions I have had thus far.  This is a second marriage for both fiance and I, we are looking forward to the fun, but affordable, wedding and reception, and an 8 day familymoon bonding our new family together.  Three teenagers between the two of us.  About 25 - 30 attending wedding, all coming from out of state, with about 10 sailing guests.  Ordered and mailed save-the-dates which requested quests to view more details on our wedding website.  Haven't decided on an invitation yet, but need to do that very soon.  Our wedding website has been helpful in communicating most everything the guests need information on.

Does anyone know how to get a large number of out of town bags on the cruise, along with wedding dress, fiances, and childrens clothing for the wedding, plus the eight day cruise, and everything else?

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi, I'm Dawn from Buffalo, NY.  We will be embarking on Carnival Conquest 11/9/13.  There will be about 30 guests sailing with us.  We will be getting married on St. Thomas on a Beach.  I'm using Island Bliss Weddings to help with planning on the island.

We have the cruise booked and almost all of our guests are booked.  I have my dress, the reception booked.  Still not sure about every detail...such as the time of the ceremony, transportation.

I still want to book the steakhouse on board for a reception dinner.  Just started on OOT bags yesterday.

I thought I was almost done setting things up but I just keep thinking of more and more things.

HAPPY PLANNING!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
