Absolutely! Glad I could help someone. Its an overwhelming process. Any wedding is really a lot to handle but when you can't see anything coming together, and you can't meet with anyone in person its even more challenging and frustrating! All of you ladies can handle it and your weddings will be perfect!!

Hi! I'm getting married in January at MP and this thread has been amazingly helpful.

For those of you that bought your outside vendor - whether photographer or Dj- a nights stay, what is the process to do this? And did you notify your wedding coordinator of this?

Ahh we leave tomorrow! Couple other quick questions :)

Restaurant Reservations - did you have to reserve any of the restaurants in advance if it was just a couple of you? Like MoMo, etc? Bunch of my guests have been asking if they should.

Excursions - same thing, did people have to reserve this stuff way in advance?

Big Resort Map - I have a PDF one, and was going to print it out...but am hoping the resort just has big resort maps...do they?

Thanks so much Jackie for all your help...it means the world to me!

Wow! Already! So excited for you!!

Everyone was able to make reservations at restaurants while we were there. I highly recommend the Italian at the Golf Course. You can call the restaurant to make the reservations. We walked right into other restaurants sometimes with groups of 12 and they accommodated us! I wouldn't worry about making those reservations ahead of time.

Excursions and spa should be booked ahead of time. They fill up really fast and if you have a busy wedding week schedule then your guests may be limited on the days they can actually enjoy an excursion off property. Most of the excursions are alllll day. Make sure people know that they should bring water, bug spray,a nd lots of sun block. Its hot and a lot of walking. :)

When  you check in you will get a large resort map. Its way better than the PDF versions found online. Also, go to the public relations desk by the concierge and ask for a weekly activities guide. It will give you a list of times and days that shows and other activities are offered on the whole property!! Its like a jackpot for people who just want to stay on property and enjoy themselves!!

Have a fantastic time!! Can't wait to hear all about it

@@robertandreneesayido oh trust, I have asked for it several times. I just sent her an email basically saying I have some questions and listed each one as a different "paragraph" she responded to each question under my question. I hope that makes sense

I like that photographer she chose as well. There is now a Palace brides facebook group started by BDW. The prices for Ocean are on there, I may use them, because I want photo and video and I think they may be in my budget. I do wonder if I can remove some things from the package.

@@TheBHolders Thank you. I just requested to join the FB group.

Any brides has Leide as their on-site coordinator? I think that is who I was assigned since she was the one who I am meeting with at the Site visit.

I'm doing a site visit at Moon Palace this weekend! Any recommendations on what I should do, see or ask while I'm there?

Dying to hear about your site visit! Hope it was fabulous!

I'm planning a beach ceremony and outdoor reception at Moon Palace for Oct 2015. I spoke with I believe the off-site coordinator the other day to go over the basic details. I asked what would happen if it rains since my events will be outside and she just said they always have a back-up plan and would move us inside. Has anyone had this experience with moving the entire wedding inside at the last minute? I'm worried that I'll be planning all the decor for being outside on the beach and it not working/look nice in a ballroom. I've also read reviews on other sites about poor communication when the wedding needed to be moved inside. I know I can't control the weather but I think that's what I'm going to stress the most about, but I really want an outside wedding!

Congratulations!! I just had my wedding October 12th and the forecast the entire month leading up to the wedding and while we were there called for 60-80% chance of rain. I must have had 100 nightmares and lost countless hours of sleep over the weather. It rained... one day during the week for 15 minutes. Not a drop after that and it was perfect!

I did have a backup plan for the wedding. A ballroom.... yuck!! I planned the wedding as if it were to be outside just like I had dreamed! If it rains the day of the wedding then your onsite coordinator will get in contact with you about 4 hours prior to the ceremony and give you the choice to move the wedding. Unfortunately, many of your decorations and rentals wont look as great inside but... you'll be dry and enjoying your day!!

My recommendation is to just go ahead with planning. It'll turn out great!

I was told by my onsite coordinator upon arrival to the resort during our first meeting that if it rains they cant guarantee that everything will get moved inside-- I am assuming she meant rentals. Table cloths and any other linens if wet don't get replaced. They'll just give you white if they move you inside. If you make the decision ahead of time to change locations then they will make sure everything is set up nicely inside. If the weather really looks bad--- they will know and tell you, I would recommend having the location changed ahead of time. You don't want to be in the position where all of your stuff was set up outside hours before the wedding and it gets ruined from rain.

Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
