We got married here and used DreamArt. We were happy with the pictures that were given. They were really nice.

I think the problem with getting married at a resort is that they kind of hold you hostage with vendors. They know this and charge high prices because they can and couples will pay. They charge North American prices but really I'm willing to bet they pay the photographers Mexican wages.

I totally agree. I live in Las Vegas and it can happen here but I honestly think you should at the very least be given two options. I am so nervous about everything because it seems you are at their mercy. My husband to be is concerned that the pricing will all change drastically when we get there and we will be screwed I have 60 or so people coming and I wake up with nightmares all the time about it. Please tell me it was smooth...

Can anyone who has already been married at Moon Palace confirm that prices you were given and services provided were accurate? My budget is about $15,000 and not a penny more. From the start Moon Palace seemed to be the most bang for your buck so to say but now I am second guessing everything after seeing the insane vendor pricing for DJ and Photo. I was told a number of things were included since we have more then 75 rooms booked only to find out that they actually just changed what is available for 2015 weddings. Now it seems you only get free room nights which I am not interested in so much. Anyways I am grasping at a glimmer that someone had a great EASY experience when it came to final billing and day of. Anyone??

We only had 8 people so can't comment on the free room nights etc but I'm pretty sure we paid everything up a month before our wedding.

Just keep all your contracts and bring then with you. The only extra charge we had was flowers thrown after our ceremony. We just bought the packages for the wedding and photographer. The 16% tourist tax sucked on top of everything.

We were really happy with our wedding day and the coordinators are attentive when you get there.

I didn't care for the resort but that was just us.

I can't answer your question about ease of final payment but I've read a few posts that Moon Palace will honour your contract. If it says unlimited private events after reading 75+ room nights on your contract, that should be honoured! I'd fight it if they're now just giving you free room nights.

For 2015 The Same Benefits Pretty Much apply. After you reach 75 nights you get unlimited private events for up to 3 hours and 1 free room and upgrade for every 10 nights based on the average room nights. You actually make out better with the new promotion

I was married in 2012 and what was on the final Purchase order that I paid for before i left was exactly what my bill was- I didn't change anything once I got to Mexico- my wedding coordinator did through in some freebees but I did not add anything extra.  Just make sure you save EVERYTHING- all emails and purchase payments- the resort did try to recharge me the Purchase order bill when I checked out but I had my email and receipt printed out in my wedding binder and after I showed them that there were no issues!

Just about a week away from leaving! Feeling the pressure to pack and get everyone's questions answered. I've had great contact with Joseline my onsite coordinator so far! I think we have everything settled for the week of wedding events. Fingers crossed we can stay dry.... the weather is not looking for next week! :/

Can anyone advise on what you have done or are planning to do if there is rain on your wedding day?!

All of my wedding decorations, tables, lighting I have rented is designed for our outside reception. I look at the weather for next week and absolutely panic!!!!

HELP!!

HELP!!

I was married at Le Blanc Spa Resort a Palace owned resort and for the whole weekend we were there it called for rain.  I was stressed about it but really I had no control over it so we went with some of the back up plans.  For our cocktail welcome party it was the first day everyone arrived and we had planned an outside event but my planner came to me and gave me the forecast for the night and I could see that it was cloudy and that it had rained on and off during the day so we moved it indoors next to the terrace so we could still go outside if we wanted too.  Trust me with the humidity at night going indoors was a better idea for all guests.

For our rehearsal dinner same thing your wedding planner will give you a print out of the weather for the day and you make the choice to keep it inside or out.  We got to keep ours outside as planned and it was great less humid than the night before but 2 hours in the rain started but it was no big deal because by then we were done eating and just mingling so we just moved the party inside and went to their upstairs bar.

For the big Day again we got the print out and it did call for some rain and it did rain during the day for like 5 minutes and then cleared up so we went ahead and had the ceremony outside as planned and it was perfect.  As for the reception it was planned for the terrace roof top but it called for rain at night and my planner advised us to bring inside instead and keep cocktail hour outside so we could use some of the decor we also rented like lounge seats.  So that's what we did and to tell you the truth I was a little upset about moving inside at first but with weather in September being temperamental I didn't want to chance it plus it was super humid and my guests were much more comfortable inside for the reception.  They were all sweating at the cocktail hour so just don't freak out over the changes they are bound to happen just remember to keep calm and enjoy every moment.  Your guests will still have a blast no matter what heck on the first day rain and all everyone jumped in the pool.  We never got a full on rain out day either it would just be a quick rain and then clear up. Good luck at your wedding and enjoy every minute it goes by really fast.   ;)

Hi! You already know what happened with mine.

Just be proactive and make sure that if the day of forecast calls for rain that you talk it out with the coordinator before hand. Unfortunately my coordinator was no where to be found the morning of our wedding and never even advised us that there was rain in the forecast. They asked us to make the decision to move inside after it already started raining and all of our rented decor items were setup outside. Which means they got wet. They refused to move in the majority of our items and did not give us a refund for the items that were not used at our reception even though no one asked if we wanted to move everything inside at all or even informed us of the forecast.

I hope you have beautiful weather and that everything goes according to plan but don't let it get to you too much if your plans change. I did and it totally ruined my day. Just take a few shots (if you drink) to ease the nerves and enjoy the company of your husband, friends and family.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
