So it's looking like the Grand section of the resort (rooms, pools, restaurants, etc) is going to be closed for remodel work when I'm there for my wedding. I'm super bummed because this is the section we & our guests were supposed to be staying in. The Grand is the only section we've stayed in & we absolutely loved it so I'm wanting to make sure that whichever section I request now is just as nice. Does anyone have a preference regarding Nizuc or Sunrise? Are the rooms in one section nicer than the rooms in the other? We have no problem walking to the other section for bars, pools, & restaurants. So what I care about the most is the quality of the room & patio. In the Grand there was a pillow menu, aromatherapy, nightly desserts left, & more. Do they do those things in the other rooms also? Any help would really be appreciated!

What menu options did everyone pick for their cocktail hour, reception, etc? Likes/dislikes?

In sunrise and Nizuc the only area that I think has pillow/aroma picks is concierge levels.

Sunrise and Nizuc rooms are exactly the same as one another. Only difference is sunrise has the hammocks on balcony.

I believe both are not as big or setup slightly different than grand rooms. Their balconies are not as big either. Just hammock or two plastic chairs and small table

We did international cocktail hour - everybody loved it.

Reception we did Cajun buffet. We swapped shrimp cocktail to do cerviche instead. It's so good.

The deserts were so so. Our cake was really good. We did chocolate on bottom tier and strawberry on top

Does anyone have a script of the ceremony? I've asked my wedding coordinator and she just said she would have to ask the minister but hasn't gotten back to me yet. We are having a symbolic ceremony and i would like some idea of what the vows will be so we can decide if we want to add anything else!

No I don't have a copy of it can't remember exactly how he did it. Loved our minister though.

If anyone looking for Moon Palace wedding pics I Just posted pictures in my gallery of sneak peaks. Album: "Our moon palace wedding ~ June 23, 2015"

The only complaint wasn't really hotels fault There is a big big seaweed problem but I travel quiet often and it's not just Moon. All over the Caribbean is having issues. Just got back from Dominican and they had a lot too. Moon tries to clean it up 3-4 times a day but with the current in that area there's so much. the Mexican government is starting a program to help fund clearing it out.

So if there is some or a lot there don't get discouraged. When you go closer to grand side of beach it's not as bad. Plus there are so many other pretty spots to take pictures. Also if you visit beach or sun palace for the day there is less seaweed there. They still have some but the current is different there so don't get as much.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
