We choose not to do the private reception, as we were only offered outside locations and felt that guests would probably appreciate getting out of the heat. So we went for the Italian buffet in Nizuc. I know it won't be private but they will section a part off for us so I think it will be ok.

We have booked Dream art photography with the resort. We managed to negotiate a good deal, and we're happy with the examples of the work we have seen.

What time is your renewal and where have you booked?

What did you negotiate with dreamart?

Thank you!!

We did not honeymoon... we were afraid the family would stay longer and interrupt our honeymoon! We will be going back in July--Probably the Sun palace! We chose not to do video-- although after seeing all of the photos and how well everything turned out I kind of wish we had the money to hire someone. Its just so expensive. it was hard enough to find photography under $2000.

We rented the coral table clothes-- should have bought and brought them though. They were light weight and ended up costing us $30 a table cloth! I bought the gold runners from an Etsy shop, plastic LED candles from Target in the garden section and the small shells and starfish on clearance with coupons at Michaels Craft store. We made paper cut out wraps for all of the candles using a paper puncher from Michaels and it created a really simple and inexpensive candle lanterns. If I can get everything unpacked I will be selling the 5 gold runners that I used and the candles, they are super light weight! Let me know if you're interested. Look on craigslist for tablecloths you'd be shocked to see how cheap they are on there! People are giving away those things!! If you get light almost sheer ones they'll look great over the basic white linens that they offer. We also bought out chair ties from craigslist for less than $5-- all 100 of them!!!! I have navy blue chair ties if you'd like them as well. Didn't end up taking them with us.

If you don't hit the free unlimited events don't fret. Just make dinner plans with your guests during your stay-- they wont even know the difference between a private event and enjoying a nice dinner with you and your FI. Theres no real rehearsal even needed!

Hi!! You have such great info here...I am new to blogging!  How do I read all the replies??

Who contacted you from dream art? Priscila contacted me but she says they can't negotiate on anything! Can I ask what you have managed to negotiate?

We had a site visit and have managed to get 2 hours a la carte, 1 hours videography and live streaming for $1500. I think we made quite a saving but can't remember the exact figures. We just said the original price was too high and told them what we were prepared to pay, they were very quick to agree.

I am having my reception in a ballroom at Moon Palace. What color linens do they provide? Is it only white, or is ivory an option as well?

@@jackielemman maybe you know? Sidebar, did you say you had navy chair ties?

White is the only option. At all of my private events they had cute little centerpieces and colored napkins. Didn't request any of that-- they just did it on their own.

Don't have the navy blue chair ties any longer. They smelled terrible and got thrown out!

Sour food must have fermented form the last event they were used at.

@@llevasseur they use the same plugs there as we do here in the US. I went on a site visit to Playacar Palace, I can't remember if there was an Apple dock.

From my experience with Chi products, they are wonderful. I didnt think to look at the type of straightener or blow drier they had. I usually bring my chi flat iron with me everywhere.

How exciting!! You are going to have an incredible time!! You won't need any adapters. Everything is standard plugs. They have a full size hair dryer and chi straightening iron in all the rooms! I didn't bring but my curling iron! Soo nice!!

Ask housekeeping for the Chi shampoo and conditioner. When we got to our room we only had small bottles of some other kind of shampoo. There was nothing wrong with it but I have ALOT of hair and use a lot of shampoo and conditioner! The housekeeping ladies are lovely. They really will find anything you need!

Have a wonderful wonderful trip! I will be sending you lots of positive energy! My best advice-- relax relax relax. it goes by so fast and then its all over. Take time to absorb all of the love, light and life that will surround you and your FI on your wedding day. It is absolutely amazing!!

Ohh I brought my ipad charger and iphone chargers. Plugged them into the plugs that are right on the wall behind each nightstand.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
