I absolutely love MP and hope that I can eventually get a rate for my guests and I that's within our budget. I am aiming for an August 2015 wedding, and the rates right now are waaaay over our budget! Here's to hoping!

Hi! I am also have a wedding at moon palace august 22, 2015.

I just came back from my site visit yesterday.

Is anyone having a reception in the ballroom? My wedding will be in june and we want our guests to be in the air conditioning.

We are using the Bugambilias gazebo for the ceremony. Is there a ballroom close that you'd recommend that doesn't appear to be dated. I know playacar

palace ballroom has draping already do any have draping already at moon?

Also is there a terrace that is private and not by a gazebo/wedding location that I can use for the welcome party?

I plan to use the dinner reservation for the rehearsal dinner with bridal party and our close family members. Is there a restaurant that you recommend?

I am having reception in Aqua ballroom nizuc building- close to Bugambilias. I don't remember terrace name next to gazebo

Hi,

I am also renewing my vows at Moon Palace on 22nd August 2015!, and have also just returned from a site visit, although we visit the Moon Palace every year.

We are having the Toucan Gazebo at 3pm, with a cocktail hour on Toucan Gazebo. I think we are having our reception in the italian at the Nizuc building. It will be our 25th wedding anniversary!

How is your planning going?

Mrslcooper Really wow! We will be renewing on same day. Are you having private reception I did not see Italian room. Now that resort is booked i am looking at photographers. Do you know of any you can recommend?

Dido77 site visit was great glad we decided to go while we were there I changed the ceremony from beach to gazebo and picked the reception room. It was so hot & humid I thought it would be better for my guest to sit in shade. Zaray wedding coordinator said resort was 70% full but it certainly did not feel that way. No wait at restaurants, bar, lounges were half full it was perfect.

Yes I did take some pics. If you give me your email address I will send them

We choose not to do the private reception, as we were only offered outside locations and felt that guests would probably appreciate getting out of the heat. So we went for the Italian buffet in Nizuc. I know it won't be private but they will section a part off for us so I think it will be ok.

We have booked Dream art photography with the resort. We managed to negotiate a good deal, and we're happy with the examples of the work we have seen.

What time is your renewal and where have you booked?

Just had price list off dream art I'm shocked can anyone recommend any other photographers to get prices off please

I was the same as you. It seems insane. I am a photogrpaher myself and for what you get their packages seem WAY over priced.

We got married here and used DreamArt. We were happy with the pictures that were given. They were really nice.

I think the problem with getting married at a resort is that they kind of hold you hostage with vendors. They know this and charge high prices because they can and couples will pay. They charge North American prices but really I'm willing to bet they pay the photographers Mexican wages.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
